HI!

Can someone tell me how to safely remove the Field Terminal U-Clip's from the motor housing/carbon brush sleeve/holder? The wire for the Field Terminal U-clip's are attached to the Field Coil/Stator and I would like to remove the Field Coil so I can clean the inside of the motor housing, plus removing this ensure no wires are sticking out of the motor housing so there will be no chance of the wires getting wrapped in my buffer.

If you know of the tool needed to pry it off and the tool need to re-install the clip, I sure would appreciate the help in accomplishing this! The u-clips cost about $10 each so directions you can give me to accomplish sure would be appreciated!

Attached is a picture of the part I am referring to as well :)

I've always just used a pair of needle nose pliers. That and a little exertion should do the trick!

From the Service Manual

j. Loosen the nuts on the two screws that secure the field in the motor housing; remove the screws and nuts and the field baffle.

k. Use long-nose pliers to disconnect the field terminal U-clips from the brush holders; remove the field from the motor housing.
