because it has a separate motor cooling fan. This cooling fan is located behind the main fan case and is dedicated to cooling the motor. There are small air vents on the left side of the motor housing that allow the cooling air to exit.
So no matter how full the bag is or even in the unlikely event of a clog and there is no suction, the motor will not overheat.
The Kirby is an extremely well engineered machine which is designed to last 50 years or longer. I've seen Kirby's that have been heavily abused for 20 years and were then brought back to like new performance just by replacing the bag, belt and brushroll. |

Fan blades folding over----Good reason there to go BACK to metal fans.I have not tried the inflator tool on my Kirbys-this would be a good reason NOT TO!! |

that the Sentria fans are melting as stated above. I have never heard of anything like this ever happening! The Sentria fan is made of Amodel which has a melting point of 536 degrees Fahrenheit (280 degrees Celsius). If it got that hot, you could not touch the motor housing without getting seriously burnt.
