I would vote for bearings too-many times they don't last because of poor motor filtration in many bagless vacuums-the dirt is "filtered" by the motor.

Heh just noticed Simon didn't say it was the bearings, but I know that's what he thinks lol.

I can tell when the bearings are knackered, after that Constellation of mine finally blew a gasket...it's a HORRIBLE noise lol.
