Hey there! I just acquired a very cool Wards Signature Custom upright this evening, and I am in love. But, there is just one problem- there is nothing holding the hood in place! It looks like there's supposed to be clips on the underside, but there's nothing even remotely close to retaining clips to be found. Does anyone know how the hood is held in place, or have a parts diagram so I can find out what's missing? Thanks so much!

Where do they go? I can't seem to find any holes or slots to hold them in. Do you have a picture of how they're supposed to be in place?

If it's a metal hood, you will see two small indentations, one on each side. The springs from a Sanataire work.

If you match the indentations on the metal hood with the edge where it fits into the lower body you will see where the springs go.

One end hooks into the indentations and then goes thru a square hole in the body and gets hooked over the plastic. You should see a raised ridge in kind of a v shape next to the square opening.

Good luck

I was able to find and order a 10-pack of Sanitaire hood springs, which should be here soon. I did figure out how they go into their respective grooves, and when the springs get here, I'll have fun installing them....
