Today when a Kirby saleman comes to your home They use the It i built the way they built vacuums years ago, It has direct suction so it out cleans most vacuums.

But why would you buy a Kirby over a Hoover, Royal or Eureka.

They were all built just as well as the next, and after actually having time to use some of my collection They all seem to clean as well as the next.

ATTACHMENTS!!!!

And a good demo...Kirby appealed to the man of the house just as much as the woman, The dirtmeter showed need to the woman, but the Handi Butler sold it to the man, who in those days almost always controlled the money.

I must admit the handy butler is great, do they still make them.

I suppose all the attachments were  bonus point too. I prefer separate machines for different jobs in my home though. Never been a big all in one machine fan for my own personal use.

I must say, I really like the old Kirby's because their lighter than the old Hoovers, which of course are heaver than 35 lbs. of Blackjack County Chain.

That is properly funny.

Yes sounds so funny to say but early Kirby vacuums were feather weight lite compared with the monster Hoovers( which I love too)  at the time. It make you wonder what made them change to become the heavy weights they are now.

I think shag was the evil culprit! It not only offended the eyes but all the senses, especially that of touch. Can't you still remember scooting your sock clad feet across it, as you most sinisterly declared to your soon to be victim "I am the all powerful Electro, feel my sting" the very instant before zapping'em! Oh, the many wonders of static cling!
