Would anyone suggest how i could make a rubber surround that goes round the bulb opening area of a vintage hoover 825 mine has completely rotted away.

Its unlikely im to find a spare motor cap for the 825,so im wondering
whats the best way to go about this.

If any one has any good idea's please do let me know.if you look carefully the 825 only has the copper back plate to the rubber molding that was once there around the head light area

OF COURSE THE IDEA IS TO REPLICATE THE ORGINAl as best as possible
thanks for your consideration people and any advice you can offer
