Hey guys--I've been looking to expand my Electrolux collection. It started out not being one, but now that it is one, I'm looking to buy a 1521 with a broken motor handle--the one that runs from the blower hole to the power buttons. Is it possible to purchase these new from Aerus?

I've searched Ebay for a used one, but "handle" only returns results for the hose handle.

Specifically, can you buy them in blue, or do they all come in "sand" since the better half of the 1521 models had beige trim bits?

Thanks =)

The Model 1521 came in many different versions (years are approximate):

*Diamond Jubilee (1984-87) in sand & jade with sand-colored handle
**Marquise (1987-89) in taupe & sand with sand-colored handle
**Grand Marquise (1989-1990) in white & blue with blue-colored handle
**Legacy (1990-91) in white & blue (identical to the GM) with blue-colored handle
Ultralux (1991-92) in white & blue (identical to GM & L) with blue-colored handle
Ultralux Classic (1992-93) in blue, chrome, and white with blue-colored handle
Ultralux LX (1993-94) in blue, chrome, and white with blue-colored handle
Ultralux Commemorative Edition in black and chrome (salesperson's award marking the 25th anniversary of the rectangular, metal-bodied machines--1993) with black-colored handle.

*later machines did not have a name label
**did not have name label (you can tell the Grand Marquise and Legacy apart by their different serial id suffixes)

In addition, there were also plastic-bodied versions: the Ultralux, Model C152E, that was manufactured around the time of the 80th anniversary (2004) and the Ultralux 2000/Model C151C that came later.

If you haven't been successful in obtaining a handle online, I would suggest checking out your local vacuum cleaner stores. One or more would likely have trade-ins in their storage areas or warehouses that they may be willing to part out.
