I was wondering if anyone has both the Kirby Zipp turbo brush and also the Wessel Werk PT160, and which one is better?
I have used a Sebo branded PT160 and found it pretty good on an X4 (but alas it wont fit my Kirby hose). My 2nd hand Gsix 2000 didn't come with a Zipp Turbo brush, so I'm looking to get a turbo brush and was wondering which tool would be better? It'd get used on stairs and sofas primarily. Also I assume the Kirby tools are 32mm and the Sebo is 35mm? |

Sebo is actually 36.5mm - its a unique size. Kirby is indeed 32mm |

Hi, Well I've always found the Zipp brush to work better than a traditional style turbo tool for various reasons so it's obvious which one I would go for. But at the end of the day everyone has their preferences. Factors like price and which you can get hold of 1st may also come in to it. It's a shame you don't know anyone who has one of each and try them out to see which you prefer to use for your self.

Well I've managed to adapt the Sebo Wessel Werk tool to fit the Kirby hose to a fashion, just to see what performance is like. Not bad, but nothing to write home about.
Tried the Wessel tool on my Henry and it absoluely flies along. I'm thinking the Kirby Zipp tool may be better for my Gsix as (I assume) it's better matched to the Kirby's airflow. Shame I don't know anyone else local with a Kirby :( |

Hi. I'm sure you will find a Zipp brush. If it's new there will be no probs at all. If it's reconditioned or second hand make sure the rotor assembly has been cleaned inside properly so it spins at full speed. Sometimes over time the inside gets hair wrapped around inside the rotor assembly it's self and it slows it down.
Hope this helps.

I don't know if the Wessel Werk HEB160 mini power nozzle is available in the UK? Its the BEST mini PN; better than my old Kenmore Power Mate Jr or Lux SideKick |

Thanks for the ebay link James. I shall keep an eye on that as well as a few others that are still current on there.
As for the HEB160 - that is not really an option for a Kirby as it needs to be air driven. There's no power outlet next to the hose for a HEB160 on a Kirby. www.wessel-werk.com/en/electro-br... |
