I forgot I'd bought this, until it arrived today!

Steve kindly dated this at March 2001 for me, then taught me how to do it! Very very late machine then!

Works very well. Currently stripped down, will bring the thread up to date. A few diferences between this and the older models I've found already though!

Week 10 2001, that really is an EOL model - 18 years after they first came out. that's some going for the Turbopower 1 style head. The TP2 only lasted 9 years or so in comparison.

So, my old Hoover Purepower said 0109, that means its the 9th week of 2001, yes?

You find these Turbopowers on Car Boots quite a bit. Looks in good condition for a 13 yo machine Sam! :D

Its certainly my most minty machine now! Not me favourite though, but it compliments the collection!

I ran it around upstairs and it stuck to the carpet. Will video it on the rug when done

Its worth keeping it - as it was about the very last bagged upright that Hoover ever made - it was the end of an era.

I had a red one for a very short while and two of the blue ones (where strangely the handle snapped off the two blue ones). From what I can remember it was noisier than the 400 watt TP Junior and lacks the air freshener disc slider at the top of the bag compared to the TP soft bags.

HOW does one 'forget' he bought a HOOVER?... that one would be coming to your home?
Did you THINK I'd let that pass?

He he once paid for I move on, and have a nice surprise

Nearly didn't get it at all as it got delivered to work, as all my machines do and it turned up 15 minutes before I left!

The air fresheners stopped in the mid 90s I think. My 1994 and 5 ones don't have the air freshener. I'll put the rebuild pics up in a bit, it has a very different motor in it!

Shake N Vac is not the same - at least Hoover's disc air fresheners don't clog up motors. Shake n Vac is evil stuff. Good fun music and dance but that's all it is good for, IMHO.

Post# 277403 , Reply# 23   4/21/2014 at 14:35 (3,656 days old) by parwaz786 ( )
I used 3 bottles of shake and vac in one go with my DC07

And nothing happened! I just got a cloudy bin though, no loss of suction!

Post# 277449 , Reply# 24   4/21/2014 at 18:52 (3,656 days old) by sebo_fan (Scotland, UK, member AKA ukvacfan, & Nar2)
Well, nothing has happened yet

sebo_fan's profile picture
Unfortunately for others online, it seems that the DC07 and other vacs seem to have a problem with the FDC seal.

Yet why do guarantees become invalidated when the warning of Shake n Vac is given?

Well, I never experienced anything, my Dc07 is an excellent machine in out multi floored terraced 3 story house with 5 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 1 front room, a conservatory, and it copes with all floors! I am going to buy another DC07 and a Kirby G5

Ryan I don't think using Shake 'n' Vac every once in a while will harm a vacuum cleaner but not all the time and I certainly would not want to use it for a bagless! What a mess!

I used Shake and Vac once with my U2604 when my daughter was sick on the carpet...

The old turbopower got it up well, and the carpet smelt great for the rest of the week until I could shampoo it at the weekend, but the TP was plastered in the stuff! Still is actually as I havent refurbed it yet, not even turned it on!

Tayyb - take the top handle off the cyclone and see if it's plastered the inside of the cones. That's how it starts!

From Hoover Turbopower U2334

Picked this up yesterday from freecycle. Should help me troubleshoot my U2334 that doesnt seem to want to make its motor work after a refurb! Wet is from my run to the house from the car, was tipping it down!

And, here is a video of the U1650 after a rebuild. Can fully strip and re-grease the top bearing on the amtek motors which is nice! Still very loud though!

Is there no possibility of adding sound insulation to the TP, Beko?

I love the styling of that VERY last Tutbopower Junior, although if I got one I would find an original 400 watt motor for it :)

Post# 277532 , Reply# 30   4/22/2014 at 08:22 (3,655 days old) by beko1987 (Stokenchurch, United Kingdom)

I did think about putting an older 400w motor in but A - I havent got a spare, and B it would ruin the originality! It's not too unbearable in real life tbh.

Sound deadening could possibly be added I suppose, not sure what it would do to heat build up though!
