514 it's shy and doesn't want to come out of it's box. A woman brought it in the Kirby dealer and gave it to him. He in turn gave it to me.

Add a G4 to the collection. I found it at Goodwill this morning.

You should be called Charity Ray, because that's some pretty good freebies you got there. You also got some very interesting replacement bags - the red and the white one, don't see them very often. I guess it must be really nice to have such generous friends, and Goodwill is a really great friend to have too. Great photos, great finds, and thanks for sharing them!

A little cleaning up, new handle grip, cloth bag, new handle sticker, new brush roll, new cord, new wheels. About $40 in parts and this is what I have now.

That's a beautiful 514 shown above. Does it have the original bag and cord? Just lovely! :)

The 514 has the original cord and bag.

The bag had dry rot, just getting the top over the chain and clamp my finger went through the cloth. So if I use it I have a black open top bag for it.

The cord is stiff from over the years. You can see it in the box just under the handle and wand.

I'm not lucky at all .. Unfortunately being from Rural KY everyone thinks their Kirby vacuum that they paid thousands of dollars for, 40 years ago with age showing, is still worth $100+ .. I visit vendor malls, thrift shops, and goodwill's every weekend and not a single vacuum in sight.

For some reason I find Monday and Friday mornings to be the best time to find vacuums at Goodwill. I've found Kirbys, Rexairs, Rainbows, Orecks, Sanitaires, Electroluxs. I pick up the Orecks and Sanitaires for a friend of mine.
