I found this at my grandparents and now tasked myself to look after it I was wondering if any one know any information on this vacuum.

Definitely 1980's....probably later in the decade as the "EUREKA" lettering is slanted. Love the healthy-looking fullness of the bag when turned on!

Nope... this is a 1993 model. This was built in the last week of July 1993.

Thanks for that clarification Ben! I guess these classic fan-first Eureka uprights were hidden in their commercial vac line-up and not part of the Bravo/World Vac/Powerline marketing campaigns.

doesn't this have the pointers on the bottom with two dials to tell the date?

There was a Mighty Mite canister as well that had this color and the Imperial name.

1993 is definitely correct Ben!

We've had a thread showing the brochures for a similar set of vacs right here at Vacuumland: see link below!

And thanks Ben for posting the date information. I had suspected the serial number contained a date code, now I know how to date my Eurekas.

Eureka Imperial

My parents had this exact vacuum in the early 90s. They replaced it with a crappy Dirt Devil Wind Tunnel, and eventually bought a Kirby G6 in 1999 or so. I have no recollection of where they purchased this Eureka, and I'm pretty sure it was sold at a yard sale. For the life of me, I cannot find this model anywhere. Total nostalgia trip.
