So with luck would have it, I managed to win one of the new Dyson dc54 cinetic animal.
Arrived last Wednesday and has had a few uses already, I've taken some photos of it in action.

Here's the setup

I love the hard floor tool, the way it articulates, especially around the stools at the kitchen island.

The standard combination tool, as far as they go this one isn't bad at all. I like the angle on it, makes it easier to clean vertically, such as the TV

The brilliant turbo head in action. The profile is good, it will go under furniture with ease. It's a powerful spin, and lifts the carpet, surprisingly refreshing the pile, due to the roll, which is now sculptured and features the carbon fibre and nylon bristles, running the whole length

Another Dyson party piece, the tangle free tool. Works well on the temporary carpet we have, I imagine it will do a good job in the car too

Hmm, I'm sure there's something missing here....

Look at this detritus! Despite us having a Sebo automatic X and a miele s7 I am the house, the cinetic has managed to fill four bin fulls like this, mainly of fine dust.

Must be something in it, look at all the dust on the outer cyclone ring. None in the centre though.

This is only after 5 uses!

So pretty and shiny. It looks a beast, and performs as such

Nice one - the vac looks great & obviously has the power behind it.

Is it worth the RRP in your opinion?

It really filled up 4 bins of dust and dirt despite you having a sebo and miele upright ? That is incredible. Making me reconsider this. Was thinking of getting one but they are very pricey.

So the main turbine head. You say its powerful. Im guessing its not quite as powerful as the uprights you have but does it groom thicket carpeting well ? And doesn't slow down much ?

Yes ollie, I swap between the two and also the DC01. The first bin full was just dust, even though I'd cleaned a couple of days before.

It's probably had around seven uses now, all filling the bin with the fine dust.

The turbine head is brilliant, noisy though. It spins fast, even when on carpet.
Our main room carpet is brown, and you can see how well it grooms because the colour deepens, feels softer too.

I'm not sure if it's worth the rrp, but I'm sure it will come down. Then it will be worth it, I'm hoping we can bring it to the uprights, but it is a bit more of a challenge
