I tried to do this with Filter Queen 10 years ago in my store and they never responded back to me. They might tell you you can only sell Rainbow and only "repair' other brands. That's what Electrolux did to me when I got a dealership with them. They found out I had a store and said it's either the store or them so we parted ways. This would have been in 2003.

Both Filter Queen and Rainbow are DTD brands-they won't let you sell their machines from a fixed store adderess-only from visiting the customer at his home and doing the sales demo.

For 21 years, I owned a Vac Shop, and was an Authorized Rainbow Service Center, buying my parts at wholesale directly from Rexair. I also sold new machines in my store. When the Vacuum Cleaner Museum opened, and I sold my store to Evan Rogers (a long time friend and fellow vac collector from Boston), we transferred the Rexair computer number (needed to order parts from the factory) to him. It's all done through the RGD (Registered General Distributor). Find the RGD in your area, and talk to him. He is the ONLY person who can authorize you to be a service center and he is the ONLY person who can sell you NEW Rainbows for resale.

Most RGDs are very happy to have someone come on and be a service center, they also will definitely sell you machines to keep in the store. Most Rainbows are sold by in home demos, but most service centers have at least one or two on hand to sell to someone that comes in and wants to buy one, or has an old one thats beyond repair and you sell them on trading up to the new model. When I get my own store I plan on trying to become a service center too, I really do love the Rainbow product and would enjoy being involved in taking care of the customers and their machines. I'd also LOVE to have a new one to sell as well, won't be my biggest mover, but any time I;d get a customer with severe allergies or the like and need a vac with excellent filtration, or someone that prefers not to have to buy bags or filters all the time I'd do a demo and try to sell them one.
