Your Heritage 84 with the 13" nozzle is very rare! I like that! I just wish I had its brush roll (part no. 500505).

That's also amazing about the shake-out bags on both of them! I mean, it's rare to find any Kirby Heritage/Legend series with both a 13" nozzle and shake-out bag. I'd like to find one of those myself.

i searched ebay a long time before they showed up, when they did i lucked out & won the bids.there is one right now with the shake out bag but not the 13" nozzle for a make offer price that would be nice for someone to get & they are not asking a lot for it.i call them my jewels because they are to a collector & myself.

Do you prefer the shake-out bag format over the style #2 disposable bag set-up?

i can not stand disposable bags. i'm old school & love the shake out bags.that's why i collected the older models.if your a germaphobe about dust, disposable is the way to go.it doesn't bother me.

i like them both!

I'm fine with the older shake-out bags, but on the newer models that come with disposable bags(such as my Heritage I or brand-New Heritage II Legend) I tend to keep them with that set-up!

Let me ask, what do you plan to do in the event you acquire a model such as the Generation series?Laughing

I may just be able to assist with a shakeout bag and 13' brush roll...

I just finally opened up a machine I purchased a while back... (Before I arrived here in the USA) I've since converted it to a disposable bag system so have a spare shake-out bag for the Heritage, and just may have stumbled across a store that has some of the 13" brush rolls...

I also need advice on how to properly launder the bag as it's been used obviously and would like it nice and clean for either storage or selling...

Steve,

I have a Kirby Dual Sanitronic 80 that could use a 13" 4-row (double bristle) brush roll. The one I tried to get on eBay was misleading, since the actual item turned out to be a common 2-row roll instead.

just scored another heritage with a shake out bag so that's 3 i have now. no it did not have the 13" nozzle but since i have one***** cold water & gentle cycle for washing, either air dry or low heat for drying. i've never had a problem that way.

Steve,

All Kirbys prior to the Heritage I used two rows of bristles, one per side.

The Heritage I brush onward would have four rows of bristles, two per side. The Comvac series used the same kind (part no. 500505 13", 152581 16").

Lovely Heritage 84, that shake-out option is growing on me! You never have enough KIRBYS! And where did you find this one? Surely with THREE lying around, he wouldn't miss one.....you leave the laundry room window unlocked, right?Wink

Not to pry...

If you were going to sell the 84 Heritage, without reconditioning inside and out, just giving it a bag cleaning, how much would you sell it for? I don't want it, I know some who is selling a 84 Heritage with a disposable. Thanks.

Why would anyone prefer a shake-out bag over a disposable?

I have my D80 retrofited with a disposable bag setup.

I prefer a shake-out bag, there's something satisfying about emptying after each use, seeing all the dirt it picked up, and ceremoniously disposing of it.

Shake-out bags are fine, if you have perfect nasal/sinus anatomy, and are not prone to allergies.

Yes, removing the dust each time is satisfying to see it all go away when done. But, I now am even more satisfied when I change my G6 HEPA bag every month or 2, to see not only is the disposable bag full, but the inner lining of the cloth bag is completely dust-free (meaning no bag or fill tube leaks.)
