. When I bought the Kirby 517 from Dustin, I told him to keep the attachments to bring down the shipping cost. I already have enough sets of Kirby attachments -- most of them practically new -- so I didn't need any more of them. Here are some photos of the floor polisher and straight-suction setup. The last photo of the polisher shows the machine positioned the way many Kirby salesmen "unofficially" demonstrated it: They would lock the handle in the lowest position, then lift the handle up. When they did so, only the bristles of the polisher would be touching the floor because the four wheels would be in the air. That greatly speeds up the polishing action because there's more weight against the floor, thus more friction, thus more heat to melt and then buff the wax. |

well if you ever want to hand it off i will gladly take it and treat it with the greatest of respect. it will be in great company with my other 517 & the other kirbys i have.it's just like my mom owned since 1957 & sold when i was in my 40's.she's gone now & that's why i love those 517's so much.reliving the memories of every friday helping on house cleaning day with the kirby.
