When I bought the Kirby 517 from Dustin, I told him to keep the attachments to bring down the shipping cost. I already have enough sets of Kirby attachments -- most of them practically new -- so I didn't need any more of them.

Here are some photos of the floor polisher and straight-suction setup. The last photo of the polisher shows the machine positioned the way many Kirby salesmen "unofficially" demonstrated it: They would lock the handle in the lowest position, then lift the handle up.

When they did so, only the bristles of the polisher would be touching the floor because the four wheels would be in the air. That greatly speeds up the polishing action because there's more weight against the floor, thus more friction, thus more heat to melt and then buff the wax.

That's a beautiful 517 Charles! I have one too, but not nearly as nice as yours and mine has a replacement cord and the bojack replacement bag that takes the F & G paper bags.
