It would appear,

the handle folds for (somewhat) easier storage.

The EmPower wasn't a bad cleaner. I remember when they came out... maybe 2003ish? They were available in blue, green, orange, and grey. There's a low speed "hush mode" and a power boost switch at the top of the handle. Easy to use, lightweight. The big flaws were the handle release pedal could break if you hit it too hard; I also saw wheels fall off from time to time. The bagless design is pretty easy to keep clean (not as easy as a Dyson), but could be worse.

A friend of mine has one of those in that color. I thought it was a pretty good vacuum, but the filter is messy to clean. It is lightweight though and easy to maneuver.

I had a green one (My favorite color), and it was a pretty good vacuum. Fairly quiet, lightweight, good suction. My only issue with it was that it was a major pain to change the belt (If I remember right, either 8 or 10 screws), and the attachment clip that holds the wand and crevice tool snapped off. It is essentially a 3 speed motor- Normal, Hush mode, and a power boost button on the handle that can be locked on. The power boost overrides normal and hush, taking it to full speed, either for just a second, like to clean an especially dirty area, or locked on for maximum power full time.

The Empower were nice!! As Fred stated they had a blue, green, orange, gray, there was a Turbo Power series and a commercial model of this series.

The handle and floor head design were similar to that of the Hoover Foldaway bagless. But the Twinchamber bagless system that Hoover based many of their machines off of was far better than the bagless system in the Foldaway series!!! Also the hush mode and Power Boost were very nice features. All were a 15" Widepath design.

My grandma had one and it was a great vacuum. I miss it sometimes!
