Hi - I posted in another thread - possibly two (sorry, moderator, I'm learning my way around). I've recently acquired an old Regina upright with a 1925 Patent ID on it. It fires up, has suction, & the bag expands. While the metal and bag show vintage aging, it appears complete, in good shape, & in working order. The handle is wood at the top. The Regina emblem on the front plaque reads "Motor Manufactured by Westinghouse". The bag has an ornate gold logo. Any idea as to what I'm working with and/or the approximate value? I'll try to get a photo asap.

Thanks!

Hi!

Regina started out as a music box company and than began making vacuum cleaners. they're most notable for their "Electrik Brook", which ran from 1948 up until when the company was sold off to Oreck in the 1990s.

Where exactly in Florida are you? I'm up north in Jacksonville.

What is the model number of your Regina? I have 2 of them, a model 39 and model 59, the 39 being the older of the two, and it also says motor manufactured by Westinghouse. I think the 39 was made in the late 30's or early 40's, and the 59 may have been made in the late 40's or early 50's. A model number lower than 39 would make yours older than mine, a number between the two would put it in between. As for a value, there really are no set values for vintage vacuum cleaners, it is worth whatever someone is willing to pay you for it. Here's a pic of my model 39 Regina, with attachments, floor polisher, and Reginerator (demother).

And here's a pic of my model 59, a newer model, also with attachments. Interesting that the older one runs like a top, but the newer one currently doesn't run.

I'm also in the Jacksonville area (Fleming Island)! It's not for sale (yet), but if you're interested, let me know. As for the model, I'm not sure yet. I was advised that since there's no height adjustment and, based on the bag graphics, that would be a very early 1930's model.

Thanks.

I love those Reginas, definitely machines that are on my want list, which is not nearly as long as it once was.
