Can anyone tell me when this Convertible was made? I've attached a photo to this post. Thanks a million!

One more.

Here it is running. Purrs like a kitten and cleans my shag area rug beautifully! Sorry about the awful glare from the headlight. I have a Lifeproof case on my I-Phone and I think that's what caused it.

Just love old Hoovers. Nothing like the sound of strong airflow and good agitation!

one benchmark. its no older than 1979 due to being a plastic based model. i cant help much more than that as im not interested in convertibles after the metal base was dropped.

That was built sometime between 1979 and 1987. Hoover started to put a four digit date code in serial numbers starting in 1987, which your machine does not have. I bet it leaves fantastic vacuum lines in that shag!

Well, pick her up in the nice DeSoto, then head out and take her to a lovely dinner over at Casa La Electrolux (The restaurant one, that is!). After diner, why not take her to the drive-in to see a mid-night science fiction showing? she'll be in your arms in no-time!

Oh, We're talking about PRODUCTION dates,Laughing !

This is a 1980s machine, Something about it screams department store special, going off the bag. most had a vinyl bag, unless they used cloth later on into the 80s? maybe Macys? I want to say Penneys, but then wouldn't it have J.C Penney inscriptions on the cleaner?

Look in older 1980s catalog's from stores, you could likely find a similar machine in such.

Oh, and P.S- If you ever find that Hoover cheating on you with the Porta-Power, The KIRBY is always waiting at home!

(Ducks and Ran)!

At least 86-87, Hoover changed the font of the serial numbers in late 85 before adding dates in late 87

I used to have a convertible U4317. In the process of cleaning it and removing the outer bag I noticed the embossed digits "75" in a circle on the handle, so I took for granted that that meant the year of manufacture was 1975 which seemed to fit the groovy 1970s colors.

When I first saw the heading I wondered if it violated the Mann Act--
