I am going through my machines to see which I will be getting rid of .
I only purchase brand new vacuums I could never buy a used vacuum or pick one from the trash .I am a clean freak and cant stand germs from other people . I own over 400 and will be posting them as I dig them out of the loft . Enjoy the pics ;) Dan |

caught my eye so i looked it up and found this hillarious review, see link.
UV light on a vacuum, gimmick or useful technology? My guess is the former. Attachments on an 8lb vac, is this advisable? What was your experience? Well it seems the PurATron has left the market but i see Newegg.com still has 'em for $188. CLICK HERE TO GO TO stricklybojack's LINK |

I have a large loft in my house that's where they have
been . There are SOOOO many more pics to follow . Only one Miele a Flamanco and one Sebo rebadged as something else it's an essential G which is the only good Sebo . will post pics later . Miele and Sebo are my least favorite vacuums I used to be a Miele dealer and sold Aliminium Blue Moon and Silver moon my opinion they were the last great Miele vacuums . Sebo I can't stand the automatic height adjustment it constantly moves up and down and does not clean well at all and grooms horribly . I do have a clear nib dealer only Miele when I owned my store a 500 series . Dan |

Hi Dan,
Impressive collection so far and look forward to seeing more as you bring them down from your storage area! I never knew you owned a Vac Shop - that explains a lot on how your collection grew to be so large!! Keep warm I see you have bad weather heading your way...good time to take more pictures and enjoy hot coco!! Best as always! Doug |

My last Mieles were two capricorns and the red upright newest one .
I thought the upright was bulkier than my Kirby's and very heavy . The Capricorns I bought one for me and one for my sister both fell apart quality was not as good as the models from the 2000's . Plus I always hated the short hoses and toy attachments . You know my thoughts in Sebo just not impressed with them . If I open a store again which I still might I would carry Simplicity again Royal brand , Sirena and Hoover only . Doug , Thanks yeah I have tons more you'll see ;) yes I miss my store but I can always open another one that's in my plans . I have a few Filter Queens which I love but can't stand the constant color change . I hope the new one that is due out is an improvement especially that power nozzle needs improvement . Dan |

Dan,
Your collection so far looks absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to see the other machines that you bought from our mutual friend on Drinker Street, the incredible Mr. John Gregory, as well as the rest of your fabulous high end machines! I can really tell that quality is your friend! If you haven't already, check out the Royal Lexon S20 full size canister. I just bought one from John and it's absolutely amazing! |

Tom ,
I am very blessed and grateful for everything and everyone in my life . It's a dream come true to be able to own every vacuum I could ever want . This is just the very beginning I took all these out of my loft and it looks like nothing was removed , that's pretty sad I have gone overboard but will sell a lot of these machines and give a lot away to friends and relatives . Dan |

Thank you were not too far away from each other :)
I think the oldest is from 1910 a Eureka . Not too much into the old vacuums I am more of a 50's on up to the newer models . My favorite being Kirby and then all high end machines . My house isn't large enough to display my collection I could have a huge home if I wanted to but I prefer smaller old homes . Never got into McMansions although I have almost bought 3 over the years but always wind up backing out . My home now is a 20's bungalow surrounded by 28 acres and I own an ocean front condo in Atlantic City NJ . Dan |

My Favorite full size canisters sold through vacuum shops .
My Simplicity S36L I have left from my store this was when they first came out . I still prefer this to any Miele or Sebo the quality and features are much better and if I do reopen a Vacuum shop it will be Simplicity or Riccar . Next is my TOL Riccar 1800 I live this canister the color and all the standard options are hard to beat . I love the metal 3 row brush roller ;) Dan |

the limit is when I say that's the limit !!!
I work hard and enjoy my life to the fullest . The harder I work the more funds I have to buy brand NEW Vacuums or what ever my heart desires . Does my collection look like trash finds or yard sale flea market vacuums ? Does that answer your question Mike ? Dan |

Yes there is a lot of opinionated people. Nice collection there.
But then if you're going to put out thoughts like "I dont like Sebo" and the Hoover cleans better because it has a dual suction channel, then you don't do yourself much of a service. End of the day, collections are great but it can be expensive regardless of how many or how little you have. In my experience, as the parts become scarcer to get, it makes more sense to hang onto vintage vacuums unless you need the space back in your home. Hence my reason to sell off virtually everything I had that was vintage. Miss my Hoover Juniors and Seniors but I needed the space! |

Sebo fan I guess I should have said in my opinion and personal experience I prefer the Hoover over a Sebo . That's why there are so many choices for everyone .
I just got carried away with my collection and these pics are just the beginning it has gotten out of control . I love the Hoover Juinors and Seniors here we have the Convertible as you know which I will never part with my collection of them plus I have two brand new Hoover Junior's one is still in the box I will post pics of the Juniors as soon as I find them . I am not used to opinionated or nosey people because my friends and family are not my collection has never been questioned only accepted I guess I have lucked out . Dan |

I only realised last night when looking at Amazon.com that the Hoover Signature and countless other models like it might have synthetic dust bags. The Vax VCU02 I have (and might I say I love it because it is so lightweight and better made than the awful Oreck XL my parents had as well as being great for my height compared to my fave Hoover Junior uprights) only uses yellow paper dust bags.
Do all the brands you have, Dan, based on the Hoover Signature have synthetic dust bags? |

Whats a Vax VCU02 look like ?
My Hoover Signature and the Royal and the Aerus fresh ERA all have paper bags in them . I guess now they make synthetic but I haven't used those machines enough to use up all the paper bags . Colby I LOVE the 1800 color and all of Tacony`s colors I think that's what makes their machines stand out its like a high end luxury vehicle when it comes to their colors. BUY another ASAP !!! Dan |

They are but the ones in the Uk under Vax aren't that well made "apparently." I have noticed it myself - the handle at the top is held in by two screws but they don't make the handle feel very complete.
I do love using it though - much easier than a lot of more modern vacs on the market and at the price I paid - much cheaper than a brand new Oreck in the UK. |

From my good friend John Gregory owner of Sweeper Central a Hoover authorized
vacuum center in Dunmore Pa on Drinker street . The Anniversary Hoover Windtunnel The Hoover Professional that John designed and help bring to market .I had to have this :) The last of the Commercial Elites 😢 And a Windtunnel High performance directly from the president of Hoover this was supposed to go to someone else but I lucked out and John gifted it to me . I am really impressed with the quality for a China Hoover but they can make quality products this carries a 5 year warranty so if it doesn't hold up Hoover will fix it and make it right . He is a great friend I brought him some nib Hoover convertibles and NOS Hoover parts during my visit last month . Dan |

Vacuums some of my high end machines .
My 75th anniversary Filter Queen My 360 SS Majestic Filter Queen I love Filter Queen but wish they would do more than color change . The powernozzle is ok but needs a headlight . Hope the new one is an improvement and not a color change . I also have a 70th anniversary but I forget where I put it I'm sure I will find it also have a brown one with cord winder . Dan |

High end machines
My Aura Robo clean I love every thing about this except for the short cord the cord wonder is a good idea but too short of a cord . My Tristar Mg2 I love this but same thing color changes nothing substantial to warrant the purchase of newer models . I have a NIB DXL with the plastic all black newer PN . I also have 3 NIB compacts the green ones with flowers on side . Will post more tomorrow ;) Dan |

Fantastic collection you have Dan!! Lots of machines that are really great and you've taken such good care of them. Out of curiousity with so many being preserved and protected away, what units do you prefer to use as your daily/ weekly driver?
So glad that you got a new Rainbow!! I've been very impressed with mine. They keep making subtle changes to it over time too. They moved the belt from the middle to the end and gave it a serpentine belt. Any brush roll jams, electrical connections errors, moisture sensing in the wand or hose connections are sent to the computer and power to the hose is immediately shut off!! The dolly was changed to better lock in the basin so that it is easier to align with the motor setup and just recently the side cleaning brushes have been changed some as well!! Filter Queens are great but I am hoping that the system apparently set to debut to its distributors at the end of May is supposed to have many changes. I'm hoping for a headlight in the power nozzle and also power nozzle better balanced with weight towards the front. Also hoping for redesigned upholstery nozzle so it's more effective on pet hair and hopefully they make the power nozzle and primary unit quieter with better maintained air flow. Thanks for posting your collection!!! Looking forward to seeing more! |

Thanks for the compliment this is a labor or love I have loved
vacuums since the age of 5 . Managed an Oreck store owned my own store and sold Rainbows and Kirby's . Worked for Aerus doing repairs so I have a ton of knowledge plus owning all these vacuums I have learned to repair every brand in the US . I prefer my high end Kirby's Aerus Rainbows all Tacony vacuums Orecks and Hoover convertible plus the newer Hoovers I own windtunnels ect . As my regular vacuums . Congratulations on your Rainbow move so now do you have to go back to all the people you sold FQ to and get them to trade in their FQs on a Rainbow because it's obviously a better machine ? I would have to go back to all my former clients and say I am sorry but I sold you the wrong machine this is the "best" nothing beats a Rainbow . Great way to make some sales since they already know and trust you . I hope FQ does some changes then I will buy a new FQ but until then I am done with them for now . Get out there and replace those FQ sales with new Rainbows A Rainbow fits you perfectly Rob good move . Dan |

Go to this link at Amazon. 3 EnviroCare Royal Type B micron bags for $5 delivered. The main purchase option show 3 for $5 delivered if you order $25 or $35 off stuff total. But if you look to the right under "more buying choices" you will see a number of sellers who will ship just one packet of bags fo just $5, no need to have the bigger order. It's good to know this about Amazon.com, the best deal is often listed under "more buying choices".
If you want a full Hepa level of filtration, or a larger number of Micron bags to achieve a lower cost per bag, these options are out there on the web too. I own a version of this Hoover, 'Clean and Light' i think mines called, and i happily use these EnviroCare bags in it. CLICK HERE TO GO TO stricklybojack's LINK |

Use this link for the 'genuine' article, part number 1-871075-001 Royal bags for max filtration. $2 each plus $6 shipping, no tax. If you buy enough this works out to a decent cost per bag.

What an awesome collection. I like the variety of machines you have have (Something we have in common) Can't wait to see the rest including your NIB Hoover convertables you told me about.
I have always said you only have the right to judge a vacuum If you A have owned on from new or in perfect working order and B have worked in the industry. You have done both my friend |

thanks for the patience. If someone is in the market for those type of bags those are good links, especially if they live in a more remote locale. Funny though, I live in the heart of NYC and my only local vac store is the Kmart at Astor Place!
I just looked at my Hoover Clean & Light and noticed the bag has a cardboard dock of some kind so using anything but Type B's would probably be a hassle. I don't use it much now anyway since adding my Kenmore canister last year. Yesterday, for the first time, I called down to PA myself for some other hard to find Hoover parts, brush strips, thanks for the subtle suggestion(s). Enough talk of bags how about that Robo Clean? How would you compare it to the class standard Rainbow? And Dan, you got a good start on another monster thread, way ta' go! |

that is so true , there are a select few of us on here that really know what we are talking about when it comes to vacuums . I have been working on vacuums since I was 5 and can fix any vacuum here or around the world as you could my friend .
We are true collectors who know machines inside and out I never had a web site to got to when I was fixing vacuums I just took them apart and figured it out . Plus owning a variety and massive collection affords us the knowledge to give true life experience advice . I will own another vacuum shop because I have Vacuum dust in my soul as do you my good friend. I will be posting many more vacuums in the weeks to come . Dan |

any time my friend , glad I could help out with the Hoover parts guru John Gregory he is an absolute asset to Hoover and has helped Hoover out tremendously especially after Maytag nearly destroyed the company . People have no idea if it wasn't for TTI Hoover would be a brand of the past . They have a LOVE for the brand and are keeping the tradition going so for people to talk so bad about TTI is wrong . They have a ton of awesome vacuums in the pipeline and I will always support that company . TTI is a family from Europe who truly care about their vacuums yes some are built in China for now but that will all change for the better .
The Robo Clean is an interesting water vacuum . Variable speed its own pump built in for the shampooer a double tank its a good machine that needs a longer cord . Tons of attachments come standard . Who knows how long they will be around but its a neat vacuum to own . Dan |

yes I thought it was time to unveil my collection I am having fun seeing things forgotten and out of sight . I love perfect machines hence more than 95% have been purchased brand new . The used machines in my collection come from select friends or family members . I am always careful with my machines and use them slowly and gently always cleaning them before I put them away .I am not as obsessed as I used to be but try to be careful as I can . Yeah I kinda can do that with these threads cant I ? lol Knowledge and expertise can lead to that I appreciate all the complements from all my good friends on Vacuum land . Enjoy as I post more later today .

I agree with you about sebo's aswell, I dislike the x series intensely due to my use of them in the cleaning company I co own and also in my workshop for repairs. I always thought it was a good machine and that the electronics messed it up, That's why I love my G series it works well but for its price i should feature a brush control feature. I do like the old brown 360's alswell. The new felix is good on the floor cleaner but the hose is useless in my opinion.
Miele is also not one of my favorites I can never understand why people say the build quality is so good, at best its as good as a entry level electrolux and the Electrolux ultraone is far better built.
Do you have any Nilfisks ? |

I agree about Miele as well they were always OK vacuums their mini tools and short hose I cant get over .
Yes Sebo Essential G is their best model hands down they do need a brush control to be able to do bare floors quick pick ups . I had one Nilfisk GM90 a few years back that I sold on eBay it had an air driver PN the suction was tremendous and the filtration couldn't be beat . I liked it but wasn't crazy about it so I sold it . Dan |

I am like that with my cars also waxed weekly never park near anyone ever always the furthest away from the store ect.
I love to be the first to use a vacuum if they are used the always get new fan motor parts brush rollers outter bags ect . Sterilized and sanitized down to every screw. I was interested in a Rotho but never bought one I was going to when I had my store but it looked hard to keep clean sorta like a Thermax which I have zero interest in also . A water vacuum needs to sit on a water pan or I am not interested in it . Dan |

I used to be fanatical about cleaning my house now its clean but not spotless I grew out of that but not with my cars . Seems like we are pretty similar lol Dan |

I'm SO impressed with the Rainbow E2 Type 12 so far. I've thought about going back to Filter Queen customers that sounds tough though too. They've invested so much in it and they don't get much credit back from Rainbow from their former FQ purchase. What I'd like to do was any who did not buy or I was going to check back with that was in a reasonable financial standing, I want to show the Rainbow system to.
Thanks again for posting of your great collection and your very nice response with advice!! Rob |

I think vacuums are related to rabbits or I have a problem with vacuum purchasing ?
First is the last US made royal the Classic TOL 4008 This was the model I sold in my store I use this one and have a NIB still sealed that I am keeping along with this . Second is the TTI built Everlast 8100 although has excellent build quality the shine is just not there look like stainless steel finish rather than highly polished chrome appearance of the 4008 . Last is a Sebo essential G rebadged as a Century U vac 400 It ok I prefer the Hoover Profile to the Sebos . Dan |

You took the words right out of my mouth, Its always good to have a back up , and a back up for the back up and a back up for that back up and yea you get my point.
I mean imagine it must be really boring having to use the same vacuum every day , kind of like driving the same car to work every day as well, hehe |

Some still in the box 😁
Great find only thing is those bags only for the machines on the package . They are the Tacony built Hoovers and I already use my Simplicity cloth hepa bags in the Tacony Hoover . John Gregory ordered me the Royal genuine B bags Thanks for all your effort it's greatly appreciated . Dan |

The mind reels! When did this happen? Tacony doesn't build many of their own vacs, but they built hoovers too at some point? Argh...
Yeah i know you order some of the B's...i ordered some brush strips from John over the phone. A conversation with him sure gives you confidence in the name (and builds anticipation for their products) going forward that's for sure, thx again for the suggestion. Btw, I messaged you about a vac you had expressed interest in, "still in the box" ...lmk if it works out. This post was last edited 02/19/2014 at 19:57 |

Tacony builds all of their vacuums in St. James MO
They made the Hoovers for a short time a few years ago . Yes John Gregory is the only true Hoover guy I know with extensive knowledge about every model and he truly cares about the brand and TTI looks to him a lot for advice plus he has designed and continues to design Hoovers for the company . Thank you but until I get rid of some vacuums I am keeping my vacuum purchases to just Kirby and any other new high end machines pop up . I am purchasing a Riccar Prima once it's released . Dan |

because you can clean and polish an old Kirby or other metal vac or even a Hoover Convertible and it will present incredibly well. But something like that Dimension has to be unused to look like that, wow.
Ya think for yourself Dan. I have yet to hear anyone express such unbriddled enthusiasm for a Caddy Vac or Legacy before. About Tacony, I should have said they only build some of their *canister* vacs here, the TOL models. And even those were assembled from parts made overseas. But maybe that has changed. The video on the Simplicity website says plans for a domestic canister were in the works. And this from the Tacony website: "Tacony manufactures vacuum cleaners and commercial cleaning products in these facilities: Ft. Worth, Texas; St. James, Missouri; West Chicago, Illinois; and Southhampton, England." |

I love all of North Cantons Hoovers and I am really loving the
TTI Hoovers and what's on its way will be amazing . Purchasing Oreck will yield great things made in the US again . Well I am a fanatic about brand new vacuums as that was at least 95 % or more of my purchases . The rare used ones I have are mint like new also those aquired from friends and relatives . That video from Taconys web site is old a lot more machines are built here in the US . Sadly not all parts are made here but at least the machines are assembled here and Tacony employs Americans to build them . Dan |

I have a Hoover dimension, Not brand new but I sure made it close, Due to the fact that I like older model vacuums and alo USA model vacuums most of mine are used But i also dont like other people s dirt in my vacuums, so each machine is stripped o pieces washed in my parts washer at a hot temp to remove germs and then reassembled.I am very fussy about this. |

and eight others you have posted so far. Also i grew up with a model 65 like that one you show except the hood was the same color as the handle.
2 of the eight i have that you have posted here are the Eurekalux's you "don't like". I'm not fond them either because i got them both at an auction and neither of them work. My new mantra, "no complex electronics on vacuums please...especially on the hose!" Anyways, how did you get yours and what exactly puts you off about them? Yeah my Nanny`s hood on her 65 was same color as the handle but her Hoover warranty guy replaced it with the White improved plastic hood . She said she never thought to ask for old hood back as they probably needed to return it to Hoover.
I don't like the Eurekaluxs because of the low quality and the fact that they are trying to say they are Electrolux which they are not the US Electrolux as we know them .They are plain ole Eurekas nothing more I bought them from a whole sale distributer when I owned my store he wanted me to carry them I was just curious. Sold them both on eBay they are now gone thank God !!! Electronics on the hose is over rated I like it simple just a brush roll on off switch and a manual suction relief period . I can step on a switch and bend my ass over to slide a speed control or push a button . Dan |

Sorry about that I posted late that night and forgot to list the names. I love the newest gray one with the Wessel PN
They are called Miracle Mate platinum vacuums . A take on Tri Star same bag but sealed not open .I posted a link but its so outdated they used to use a Sebo PN it was horrible on my frieze` carpet always tripping the circuit breaker and shutting down PN . I had that model and they sent me 3 PN and all 3 did the same thing . Dan CLICK HERE TO GO TO kirbyloverdan's LINK |

You're welcome, Dan!
Those old 90's Hoovers are my personal favorite Hoovers of all time! I really tried to like today's Wal-Mart vacuums; however, I just can't stand that they are all made of cheap, creaking plastic. I also hate that modern vac motors are not made to last long like older vacs. Even the 90's plastivac motors lasted quite long, as my old Dirt Devil still works great after 17 years. The same story with cars (yes, I'm a gear head when it comes to cars). I hate cars that are unreliable, and I lean toward cars that are good quality, fun to drive, and/or unique. The Miele S7 leans toward reliability, its performance is astounding on all the carpet, it's unique with that pivoting power head and with those wheels that move underneath the vacuum to flatten the power head to the floor once you press the pedal. That's just plain awesome. I'm stuck with Miele as my favorite brand for household uprights. |

The only new Hoovers I like are Windtunnel and the commercial lines
and I forgot my favorite Hoover bagged is the profile an improvement over a Sebo . Pure quality from Hoover . I had the Miele Salsa and didn't like it I thought it was heavy coming from a Kirby Lover 😝 plus it was the only vacuum I have that smelled non of my others smell . I uses to be a Miele fan when I had my store in 2000 . I love all high end machines most of my collection . I too love quality just like my cars I prefer Mercedes safe cars just because I love the quality and placement of controls plus the fact they invented the automobile and are the pioneers of all safety items in cars today .
