Great pictures It really shows up the high quality of the product and makes so many of the new vacuums of today look so cheap. That should last for a long time. |

to see how much dirt the Sentria II picked up? Did you cut the bag open? Have you thought about getting a "dirtmeter" for Herbie? I got a dirtmeter for my Sentria a couple of months ago. It's a great tool for seeing exactly how much dirt is being picked up in Real Time.
I like to spread some clean kitty litter on my carpet and rub it in then vacuum with my Hoover Windtunnel. Then I put the dirtmeter on my Kirby and go over that same spot to see how much kitty litter the Hoover left behind. It always amazes me to see how much more kitty litter the Kirby gets out. Of course I always put the bag back on and vacuum that spot thoroughly to make sure all the kitty litter has been removed. |

Nice machine, looks like a modern marvel.
Nice carpet, no wonder you made the vacuum investment. Nice pictures, no way you shot them with a phone camera! CLICK HERE TO GO TO ornery's LINK |

My point of putting a cloth inside was to see EVERYTHING that was picked up from that spot without having it spread throughout the entire bagless chamber and filter. The Kirby dirt scope collects EVERYTHING on the one pad over a very small surface area so by putting a similar size on the Hoover you'll see EVERYTHING over a very small surface area. There's a huge difference in comparisons when doing them in the same manner.

Not to my knowledge. I think some of the older models (pre Generation series) had slightly narrower power nozzles by 1 or 2 inches. The Sentria II is currently the only model sold by Kirby. It has a nozzle width of 14 inches.

Kirbys used to be svelte. For some reason, they've morphed into... behemoths. Still loaded with quality, but BIG! That's how I like my cars, but not my power tools. Different strokes I guess.
