Recently acquired a Classic III in mint condition with all original parts, save the brushroll. All I had to do was empty the nearly full shakeout bag, wash it, and put it back together, voila! Wonderful daily driver vac for my business.
I like the convenience of not having to buy paper bags and getting to see the fruits of my labor each time I vacuum when I empty the sani-emptor, but I've noticed that I get dust leakage around the seal. Every time I vacuum there's a light coat of dust around the vinyl bag guard and on the right side of the machine. Does this mean I need to replace the bag? Would a new bag alleviate this? Thanks for any advice. |

That's the problem with the first-run shake-out bags prior to 1979... when they get porous over the years, the pores get bigger and reduce the ability to trap dust.
One common solution to dust leakage is to replace the old gasket with a new one (part no. 188056). Otherwise, failing that, it's time to replace the shake-out bag with a new one (part no. 190077). ~Ben |

I think you might have a hole in the bag. Pull the bag gard up and check for any holes or worn spots. If you are getting tired of the dist, I have new shake out bags for the classic 3. |
