Hello Vacuum cleaner fans ~ thought I would share with you what I have done with a few 55A Airway Sanitizors ~ the shape of the body just lent itself to this ~ I was asked to build this for a Toronto production of The Rocky Horror Show ~ so this is my take on the Sonic Transducer, The Sanitizor 251 Sonic Transducer MK II ~ I hope you get a laugh from it and are not offended, I really do appreciate good design ~

Regards,
David

The Sanitizor

I think it is an incredible way to reimagine and repurpose a vacuum cleaner.  Fantastic.

That's wonderful! I'm all for art being made from recycled materials.

Do you know artist/sculptor Jimmy Descant? He has created some similar sculptures from vacuum cleaner bodies and found-art.

Here's one of his works.

That is BEAUTIFUL-esp like the floor nozzle "lights"Really neat!!!The Sanitizor makes an interesting light!!I think this is good thing to do with cleaners that can't be revived.

WOW!!!

Looks Great! These Airways and the polisher in pic shown by Charles won't be in a Japanese car.I once saw a robot outside a vac shop with Hoover ur feet,GE Swivel Top head, etc.
If anyone else has an art project in mind I have 10-20 AirWay 55s and MANY others that are VERY CLOSE to going 1/2 mile away to the SCRAP YARD!!No joke! The scap yard says "Good morning. You can unload next to the old washers and we will have your cash at the office."

Thanks everyone I am pleased you all found the reuse of the 55A's a good thing ~ I am planning several more ray gun ideas with other older model non working vacs ~ Rugsucker, I may very well be interested in your 55A's and others too, but I am in Toronto, would need to figure out a way to get them up here ~ can you provide a photo of some of the potential scrap stock? ~ I will be in New Orleans next month, hmmnnn?

Not my cup of tea, but definitely cool. Far better than one of our local vac shops that has a newer Air Way outside the door as a cigarette butt can.

I should clarify that the still photo is The MK II, from the stage show and the video link shows The MK III, with the addition of the PIU control panel and linear conduit connector.
