Dear friends,
it took me a while but I'd like to share with you my happiness for this find: about a month ago I bought for 25 € this marvellous Hoover Conquest U 7071, a vacuum cleaner that I've been searching for for many years, I alrady had the smaller versions mod. U 7069 in the earlier ivory/orange/brown colors and in the later full orange like this one but unfortunately couldn't find any "big foot" models before and I must confess that they were pretty rare here in Italy but I l just love the way they clean, their power, their manuverabilty on almost any type of carpet, from thin commercial to the highest qualithy high quality residential ones. I've been using my U 7069 for years in my other larger apartment and it did a great job. Back to the last one, first of all I'd like to tell you that the parcel I received was UNBELIEVEABLE: the cleaner was wrapped with carboard, all put in vertical and guess what? The only uncovered part of it was the handle, when I saw it I started feeling a little concerned for the integrity of the whole machine. I LET THE PICTURES SPEAK BY THEMSELVES, I hope you enjoy them!Tommy
A few shots of the "clever" packing.

a mess underneath... I was worrying it would have never been restored perfectly, a little sadness in my heart, then I thought: for 25€ it is indeed a good deal, let's go on with the story.

Te same evening I decided to disassemble and try and do somenthing for the poor old boy ( to me hoover Conquests are male). I washed, brushed, rinsed every single part, while the included bags, full of c...p, after a good vacuuming (full inner cloth reusable bag detached from the fill tube so also outer bag was messy) where having a good washing and sanityzing in the washing machine.

I really don't know why those parts discolour, same thing happened to other orange parts in my other Conquests. Maybe they were made with a different maerial that reacts differently to the light.

Ok, this is it! Machine runs just like new, it is marvellous. A machine Hoover should be proud of .
A request: do any of you have a spare dark brown furniture guard for me? I would like to complete this "restoration" and it wouldn't be the same if I ordered the current replacement part which happens to be transparent, to fit the last model with black hood. Any Help would be much appreciated.
Greetings again!
Tommy
