So what should I do with it?

A. Part out and scrap it.

B. Toss it whole in the dumpster.

C. Rebuild it and add it to my collection.

To determine the answer look at its condition. I only save Convertibles if they're really fine examples, I see so many trashed and worn out ones that it'd be nuts to save them all. Although generally I don't care for them, when I see one that has nearly perfect paint and a nice rip free bag I grab it.

No matter how beat up they are-Hoover Convertibles are worth saving-so much better than the Craptastic Plastivacs sold today!!!

I'd take it; regardless of condition

How much for that Convertible including shipping?

Hoover Convertibles are one of the best there was. They are extremely easy to service!!! Parts are around, that are close enough to original or work. Metal 11 blade is fan so you probably wouldn't need to swap that for a 6 blade. The outer bag looks good. Brush rolls bearings and brush strips are replaceable. Top motor bearing plate is replaceable, Cooling fan for motor is replaceable or cleanable. All of these are doable. If you don't want to resell there are tons of people on this site who would have interest.

This color was the Agnes Moorehead (Andora, from Bewitched) dedication model.

Not my favorite color on most things, but I like the look on the Hoover.

Loved watching these vids. I very much like doing this kind of work as a hobby and using the machine afterword is a key element of the satisfaction i derive. But having a 1/2 dozen machines greeting me every morning, day in and day out, might be a different story.

You can't work on them anymore? I'd hate not being able to do this!

That's really too bad. I think I'm gonna try and do these regularly, aiming at one a week if I can. So at least you can watch and hopefully enjoy. Still not the same as working on them tho.

No, not the same, but do enjoy all the great work the members do, or even just seeing inside and what condition they are in.In the case of beko1987, machines I have never seen too.
