KIRBY 13" NOZZLE MODIFICATION FOR CLASSIC III/TRADITION
A picture is included of the exact spot on the back of the nozzle casting where you would apply JB Weld, in order to make the 13" wide Kirby nozzle jibe with the speed switch used on the Classic III and most Traditions. I would love to dress up one of these and give it Classic III or Tradition trim. Although the speed switch on the Classic Omega is the same kind, the position of the belt lifter stop rivet on its nozzle casting is not - this is why this modification will only suit either the Classic III or Tradition, since the belt lifter stop rivets on both are in the same position as the 516-Dual Sanitronic 80 nozzle castings. ~Ben |

Here's a comparison picture of the two nozzle castings.
On the picture of the 140062 nozzle casting, I put a black spot on the area where the JB Weld lug should be, accented by a red arrow showing where the lug would start from. The Classic III/Tradition nozzle casting picture below is used for comparison, to get the idea of where to apply the JB Weld on the older nozzle casting. ~Ben |
