However, she was dissapointed that there was zero suction.

Soon diagnosed that

Can anyone date from that?

New filters and a new bag later, and it ran very well, and has oodles of airflor.

However, it also belched out dust when running, so into the workshop it was

1991, week 36.

Nice cleaner Sam. Yours is older than mine as it has the earlier sales sticker and the older style floortool. Mines a 1992 and has the newer and (in my opinion) not as effective floortool.

My eyes are old, this is true, but the floor tools look the same. In what way do they differ?

I can't see a difference in the floor tools either tbh! Was watching your video of your dolphin earlier, wish my sales sticker wasn't so ruined!

Got 2 options with it, keep it and keep the scratches, or take it off and have a more mint top door.

Left it on for now!

Oh, sorry, do excuse me. Looking at the pic on the side, it appeared that your Dolphin had the older, flatter floor tool which was far better IMO.

Turbo500, I must admit I have never seen the Dolphin with that tool, always the wessel-werk pedal tool as seen with the earliest of Lite cleaners (captured in your photograph). I suspect that, as I have said before, because Argos used to request pictures months and months ahead, that picture of what would have been then a very new model was probably a post-production mock-up. Afterall, why would it be shown with the standard 3-peg style hose end...?

Sorry when I said "always" I meant always the wessel-werk in the early days and then that same one as with yours & Bekos cleaner. More so that tool than the wessel-werk in fact.

Hi Benny,

I've seen earlier Dolphin's with that floortool, but not many.

Well the parts dried so I put her back together

Floor tool is very hard to change from carpet to hard floor though. Wasnt great to begin with though, not sure if its a design trait or somethings wrong.

Spent ages on it tonight, will have another look another day

Motor and cord rewind back together

All wired up

New post motor filter back in

From Electrolux Dolphin Z2230

Should there be 2 pre motor filters? 2 came out but I cant help but think it must restrict the airflow loads!

The switch cover is glued back together and seems to have been saved, have yet to fit it though so it could all snap again sadly...

So there we almost go. Still not sure wether to keep it or sling it on the bay though.

This floor tool was always hard to adjust. Look at the pedal on the one Turbo500 has; it is the second attempt at this floor tool, with a much larger section to press on to change from floor to carpet.

It seems to put all the force straight down, basically welding itself together so it cant move. It also moves everything from the one side, and the plastic carriage bit gets sandwiched together when the screws are done up.

Might slacken the sole plate screws a tad and see if that helps thinking about it!

Either way, glad they dorted it out sharpish in the design!
