Hi David:
Your model D2 is from 1975 - 1977. The water pan is no longer available, but you should easily be able to visit a vac shop and offer then a few bucks for a used one. There are tons of chrome dome Rainbows that have been traded in and are just sitting in vac shop back rooms waiting to go to the dumpster. |

You can always find out the month and year a Rainbow was made. They stamp it into the armature stackings. Just remove the armature, and (after cleaning with a wire brush), look at the stackings for the date stamp. The stackings are the silver part in the middle, not the commutator (which appears brass) nor the copper windings.
