Well I guess that it is time that we step out of the shadows and introduce us, I am Mike, and my other half is Evan. Our collection started with my lone 1-CR that was a curb pick many years ago. As of yesterday we picked up number eleven.

So lets start this tour with what welcomes us home everyday in our back hall

the first in the line up our G4 that was given to us because the owner had enough of it and it was making all kinds of loud noises.... one new fan later and a bit of polish...

oh now to the Hertage II this was a bargain find for 2$ at a local thrift store and everything including the boxes came with it.

Now back a bit further we have the Tradition... as found needing to be cleaned up

Yes the triplets... Three Classic III's this was the vacuum that Evan's grandmother had and it is what drove the start of this collection. Of course they have not had anything done to them yet but they are next on the list.

Our magic number eleven the Kirby 1-CB it has been cleaned and polished, it actually needed very little considering it was a factory rebuild on 6-1990

Now the very first Kirby that I owned, it has been though alot, and it was a curb side pick up. The 1-CR still needing a few parts, but this was my vacuum all through college.

Nearing the end of the collection there is a Dual 80 as found, in dire need of bearings.... it kinda screams when it is powered up. Yes there is an original Kirby tag on the bag.

Finally we have reached the end of the tour for now it is our oldest and by far roughest condition wise. it is a 510 that was forgotten about in a basement for many years. It came with all of the accessories, The handi-butler, owners manual, and original bill of sale. If we read it right the original sale price was 116.56$ in 1950.

Well there ya have it, The Kirby's that have invaded our home. Thank you to all the members for the information that is shared on here as well as to vacconnection for the fan housing for our 1-CR.

Mike,

That is an impressive Kirby collection you have! Two of your three Classic III's have the exact same handle grip and bag (late 1976-early 1978).

It's history, you carrying it on in life!

Very impressive, I had a dream about a Hertiage II last night, this calls for a thread!

You certainly have an impressive Army of Kirbys! Cherish that 510 bag --- it's very rare; nearly impossible to find in any condition, let alone one as nice as yours. NEVER wash that bag because you risk the logo lettering flaking off. "Been there, done that."

Thank you all. I am glad I can share them. I was debating on doing a full restore on my 1-CR but have decided to just clean it up and keep it as it is. This may sound funny, but I get this feeling that if it could it would wear its life scars with pride.

As far as cleaning the 510 goes we were going to get the dirt and stuff out of the bag, possibly vacuum the inside of the bag but that was it. and then of course polish the machine. Dose anyone know where a replacement handle grip and cord set could be had ?

Mike

Very nice array of Kirbys! Which one, if any, is the daily driver?

Hi Mike and Evan.

It's great to see more Kirby fans on here. You have a great collection of Kirby's. I'm sure it won't be long before you double the number of Kirby's you have.Smile Look after that 510 bag!!

Mike and Evan,
That's a beautiful collection you have there. Watch out, Kirbys tend to multiply and that eleven can easily turn into twenty-two over night and before you know it the house is full of them. This has happened to me...and I love it.
Best wishes,
Justin
and my many, many Kirbys

Just add water...!!!

Figuratively speaking of course! But they DO seem to multiply that easily, don't they? My collection started with a single Sanitronic 7. Now I have more than 20 Kirby's.

Many thanks

Thank you all,

The Kirby's do indeed multiply and quickly, number 12 just came home... Another H II.

As far as daily drivers go they are rotated..... However when I want a good deep cleaning I use one of the Electrolux canisters or the Filter queen D-33
