I wonder if the circle with three line segment Electrolux logo--albeit not used on machines was used on most of the early version attachments--represented the three branches of AB Electrolux: Sweden, The USA, and Canada--with the circle portraying its worldwide market? Indeed, the logo's usage was phased out about the time Consolidated Foods purchased Electrolux Corporation USA in 1968. Moreover, one wonders if the composition of a new logo in the mid-1960s (the one with the serifed capital letters surrounded by a border) signaled the anticipation of the buy-out a few years later?

I also find it interesting that the combination floor/rug tool (that was introduced with the Model E) did not include the familiar logo. Was it outsourced to another company?

I did a posting about Electrolux logos here once upon a time. I'll see if I can find it.

I always loved that version of the logo. It is an Art Deco style. Art Deco was big in the 1930's and that was their adaption of it. I thought it represented the sun and the rays. It looks really nice and I wish they'd bring that back.
