I thought that all economy models from Olympia One to the Diamond J were model 1453, but I have also seen a reference or two about a 1452. Along with that confusion I have heard that there was an Olympia Jr. and an Olympia Two but haven't found any photos or other online information about them. Does anyone have factual info (not just guessing)?

Also, does anyone have at least a partial timeline and photos of Lux upright models/versions--especially in the early years? I found that the Model 1363 was the first one--in gold and later brown. Then came the 1451a with the DJ.

Electrolux 1453

When the Special model came out it was Brown like the Olympia One. It was always Special model to me and my other salesmen at our branch. The colors went to the Silverado Silver and the Diamond Jubilee White. The power nozzle were P/N 4 and then P/N 5 with the last Diamond Jubilee colored machines.

Thanks tig21er. Your information about the "special" label for the Olympia was what I originally thought. Thanks also for the information on the early uprights.

Electrolux

Good information above. The Specials had same hose and attachments as current deluxe model and optional cordwinders.(If you find one that runs well but has low suction it can be from foam between fan housing and bag chamber breaking down with age.)There were 2 Olympia versions-First with smaller rear wheels and super J style top trim and handle, later with larger wheels and Olympia top.
Original uprights were gold, tan, grey and sandstone with DJ.(Then Discovery in 4-86.)Original had clogging problem later fixed with clean out door on base. Some had comm nameplate and 3 wire cord.
