FOR SALE: Electrolux Automatic, Model F
$71 plus actual shipping costs if applicable

SEE CRAIG'S LIST LINK BELOW

Location: Omaha, Nebraska. Originally purchased by my mother back in 1957.
One owner: 1957 to present
Color: Classic gray and creme two-tone

Motor runs well and there seem to be no problems in the operation of the vacuum.
This unit has seen almost no use since about 1980.

Both rear wheels broke long ago. The wheel spindles and axle are intact, but the wheels themselves need to be replaced.

My Mom took this unit to a local independent repair shop in the mid 1970s while living in suburban Maryland. Apparently the proprietor made "field expedient" repairs based on what he had on hand. The ugly yellow power cord was added at that time and the original woven gray vacuum hose was replaced with a new woven Electrolux hose that is the same as the original, except that the replacement is blue rather than gray. The original gray brush attachment was replaced with a new white version that appears to be the same as the original.

I'm not a vacuum cleaner aficionado but I know this model is popular among collectors. I think this unit can be cleaned up and touched up without too much trouble. It runs as it always has and should make a good renovation project for someone who'll appreciate it.

FWIW, this vacuum cleaner is one of the first "things" I understood as an infant crawling around on the floor back when the unit was new. I got to know it well, so I'd like to find a good home for this old friend.
