This has been discussed at length in the past but not for a while so just wanted to check and see what folks are thinking (or even actually know or have hints of) at this point: are we likely to have wild, new, unconventional, and completely redesigned Kirby in 2014 or not?

Personally, I think it may be sort of a "throw back" Kirby with colours similar to the Wireless Vacuette and a complete redesign.

The Kirby has "kinda" changed within the last 20 years, but not like it did from the Sanitronic to Classic series, or Classic to Generation. We're past the current trend of Kirby major overhauls so I definitely think we'll be seeing a redesign.

Hopefully a Kirby with a quieter, maybe brushless motor? Only time will tell.

For all we know, we won't see a new Kirby and they'll just keep the current Sentria II (which by the way, is a beast.)

I suggested on Kirby's Youtube channel about a throwback model, and they actually replied back! Maybe they will consider my suggestion.

I would love to see them use the late 500 series colors; I think they are so classic looking. But I wonder if anything will come of those designs we saw over a year ago which indicated a complete redesign more radical than ever before. Frankly, I didn't think much of those designs. Kirby shouldn't try to be something it isn't.

I hope for a re-design,

One of the reasons people don't decide in Kirby, is that they're big, bulky, and heavy!

A 500 Series revival could be amazing, you wouldn't need self-propellant if the cleaner wasn't so heavy in the first place!

What if they released a new version of the "Armor" bag? Just one that wouldn't explode of the emptor as before! It would mean better filtration, without having to buy paper bags!

To compete better with Dyson and other bagless vacuums-Kirby could throw in a reusable cloth dump bag that could be used inside the regular bag-that way the customer could use it as a dump bag vac-or with disposable bags.Another thought for the reusuable bag-good for vacuuming new carpet-little dirt but lots of "fluff" or for picking up dry carpet cleaners such as Host and such.

I don't know why you'd need to put it in the bag,

For many people are on the edge of bagless! why not just have an external hygienic dump bag, with the option to convert to a disposable bag option? this used to offer this up until the Legend II (Well, in reverse, but still the same principle).

moves with technology.

From what my distribution manager says and what i've been the told and just obviously kirby doesn't just come out with a new version as technology progress so does the kirby new gizmos and gadgets may be introduced but I suspect the sentria II will be around for another year or two a retro theme would def be cool tho i would not be against the old kirby lettering or a Scott fetzer print bag as for bagless and other ideas why mess with prefection. Personal I feel canisters are messy and get dirt caked on too much hassle kirby filtration BAGS are the only way to go. Cant say I wouldn't mind a shake out bag like the classics heritage and so forth time will tell one thing is for sure it will be a quality product I dont see them stooping to modern made junk as so many great brands have the today
