Since I posted another thread about some Kirby attachments, I thought I may ask about a hose for a Classic III they have at the thrift store.
Basically, the area in the picture below (black box) has been ripped. Now, this is pretty typical of Kirby hoses from what I see. Now, since the store wants $2.50, I was wondering if: I cut the section that is bad off the hose, then take the metal hose part and mount it on the non-broken section, would I be able to do this? I'm assuming this is a "probably not" question as I would guess the piece of hose that the metal piece holds on to is larger than the rest of the "bumps" on the hose. But I don't know, maybe it could be done? |

Yes you can remove the metal coupler and cut off the damaged area. The coupler is just threaded on to the hose. It may take some force to twist it off but it is removable. |
