I scored this 1453 Canister the other day and I don't know much about electrolux, but I've never really seen such a bland looking lux as this one. Sorry for no pics, but it is rather basic with a slider switch and no cord winder. It was also always my understanding that all lux canisters had names along with model #'s, but this one doesn't seem to. Can anyone give me some info on this and which model of pn does it take?

It was the economy model sold in 1978 when the TOL model was the Olympia. I have one in the original box in near-new condition (except for the hose -- see below). I'm still looking for a white cord and brown halo for mine, because I don't like the cord winder on economy models.

Here's the whole set except for the power nozzle (which was the same dark-brown color as the machine) and electric hose. (This hose is shot, leaks like crazy and the outer weaving is coming loose in a lot of places. It's really a crummy hose.)

P.S. Is yours the chocolate-colored one, or the gray one? If it's gray, it's a couple years newer, contemporaneous with the TOL Silverado.

Re names - the brown one was also called the Olympia 2 and the grey was the Silverado Special

I have an Electrolux wall clock that was a sales premium for salesmen. It's made into the front cover of the 1453!

Cbarles,

I have a brown halo for the 1453. It's in great shape.

Let me know if you're interested in a trade of some sort.

There was also a light sand beige model that was sold at the same time as the Diamond Jubilee. But that was the last 1453. After that, cheaper versions of the 2100 took the place of the bottom model.

Was the cord winder optional on that model? It seems like I have seen a few without it.

Yes the cord winder was an optional part. This is the machine I have. (no cord winder or halo)

of an Olymppia One. Just the top is different. :)
