Wandering around the cash and carry today and they had some great deals in their bargain corner....

Miele S7210 £150
S6 Cat & Dog £75
DC39 Multifloor £150 & DC19DB £131....

I managed to resist temptation - till I saw this....

Now I'm not really a fan of hand held vacs.... yes they have their uses but I can't justify the cost. A half decent one is going to set you back at least £100....

At £50 I had to have it. It's ideal for the car (I vacuum it once a week)

Spec wise its pretty close to a basic Dyson hand vac...

10 mins run time
35 air watts

I've had a bit of a play with it and it seems half decent. Suction is good and the filter is staying clean (it has a cyclone effect)

Anyway here are some pics....

The main bonus for me over a Dyson vac is the built in flexi hose as standard.... It has a 1.5 meter stretch on it.

IF I was to buy a Dyson hand vac I'd find myself also wanting the optional flexi hose they sell as I think it would be too awkward cleaning the footwells of the car with the entire machine... Much easier to navigate with a flexible hose

It also come with a rubberised pet hair nozzle.... obviously there is no comparison between this and the motorised head you can get on some of the Dyson hand vacs - however it does still does a good job and getting cat hair off things

There is a filter cleaning wheel on the side of the machine allowing you to refresh the filter between uses without having to empty the machine.

The filter is also washable should it eventually need a more thorough clean

With the filter shroud removed....

This is the 'main' debris nozzle. It also has a flip down dusting brush on it. The machine also came with a dedicated crevice nozzle along with the pet hair tool

Everything stores nicely on the charging base.

The initial charge takes 4 hours...

The blue LED light flashes to indicate charging and turns solid blue when charging is complete. Being a lithium battery the machine can be left on charge constantly without causing any damage to the battery

All in all for £50 I'm over the chuffing moon.... But even at £100 I think it would be a serious contender against a basic model Dyson handheld.

Hope I haven't bored you all too much! LOL

I have the Flex without the new style battery. Very handy for a quick clean up car or house.

Cool, but I think the Electrolux workzone £50 is the most powerful handheld vac. It has a brushbar which is motorised, bagless, great suction (more than a Dyson handheld) and has a stretch hose with a crevice tool storage compartment at the back

My friend has one of those and I love it!

It's unfair to use the Electrolux WorkZone as a contender against the B&D or Dyson as it is a mains operated machine

I have the previous version that is orange and white.... love the "chrome" accent for the guard in the back! You can get a mini power nozzle for these if it's still available.... has to be charged separately. Within 2 months, the blue light on my stopped working but it still charges so I don't worry about it though it's annoying and says something quality (or lack thereof... this is the second black and decker floor care product I've had where the indicator lights stopped working completely before the 6 month mark). It is really handy because it's portable but the filter clogs quickly, even with the plastic "shroud of protection" and it's a disaster to empty.... you either dump it first and then remove the filter (doing this will result in the filter, shroud, or attachments falling in the trash sometimes) or take the filter out first and then dump it (doing this means that dirt will be flung out by the removal of the filter and some might even fall into the motor area).... I've never found the rubberized tool very effective and a power nozzle should have been included (along with the optional shoulder strap) and the ability to go corded when needed would have been nice....

I wonder if they have improved quality with the later versions as the filter and shroud on mine are fitted quite tightly? Either way with the 2 year warranty I won't loose any sleep!

How long have you had yours?

I agree that the ability to go corded when needed would be a good idea!

About three years... I think that the filter did become a little more loose over time.... I don't use it much anymore but I was obsessed with it for the first little while and used it like crazy..... I do like that the way the door opens reminds me of a front load washing machine and that you can see the dirt swirling around!

I'm glad you got a good deal on yours and seem to be enjoying it..... I remember how excited and pleased i was when I got mine! Have fun with it!

I used to have the Dustbuster Pivot Auto but it was useless the pleated filter would clog very fast despite using the filter cleaning knob. These look interesting though and for that price I would probably have got one myself I love the black and chrome styling! Nice tattoo btw lol
