Hey guys. How would you all compare these two vacs? I hear nothing but positive things on both just looking for opinions. To me convertible is more lightweight and quiter, cheaper to maintain. Synergy is new modern bright pretty LED lights and on board tools. Trying to decide what I like better? Any opinions or insight would be appreciated! Just basically wanna know what y'all think may be a better cleaner between the two.

Simplicity Synergy

I have had the good fortune of getting to use the Simplicity Synergy, and I must say, it was one of the best vacuum experiences I've ever had.

I vote for the Simplicity between the two - it's one of the best carpet cleaners out there, in the same league as the Sanitaires, Royal Everlasts and Kirby Sentria II. To boot, it's got more convenient attachments than the Kirby or Royal.

The Hoover will be cheaper to maintain - no filters to change, just the bag and belt - but the Simplicity has far better filtration, and the filters don't have to be changed terribly often. Once a year should do it, maybe longer if you're using HEPA bags, which I would. The belts are pretty cheap, too.

One possible catch is far down the road when it's time to swap out motor brushes - the Simplicity has two motors, so that's two sets of brushes to change. Still, that's pretty minor for a once-a-decade expense.

I got to use the Synergy at my local vac-shop, and it was quiet, and seemed very well constructed. The stainless steel, ball bearing brushroll with replaceable brush strips grooms the carpet very well. You can see deep vacuum marks, even in shag carpet. The Synergy is one of those machines I'd really love to have.

For what it is like the Convertible better-simpler-more efficient-its simple airpath is the key-doesn't need two motors to do the job of one.But--the Synergy will do better with the hose for sure over the Convertible.I have the Riccar Radiance-Brilliance series-they are almost-if not identical to the Simplicity Synergy. These are fun vacuums--but like Kirbys,Hoover Convertables,Sanitaires,Royal metals better.I also feel the Convertible will be longer lasting becuase of its simple and effective design. The filtration can be updated by equipping the Convertible with more modern bags. And I feel the Radiance-Synergy is more "Clunky" and heavy than the Convertible.

The hoover is a great vacuum but the simplicity does a better job and it does it faster than the hoover
