Well, After wanting a Miele for several years now, working at a Miele dealer, selling and servicing these finally pushed me too far. I decided to buy our last Solaris (this series was replaced by a newer series, so we aren't getting any more of this one). So far I have been impressed with it. I love how quiet it is. The powernozzle is not the most powerfull, but it does well on our carpet. I don't have any pictures yet, but this is the one I have.

I had this vacuum in yellow - it was a great cleaner. You're right about the powerhead, but it's not too bad and the suction makes up for a lot. I traded this machine to a friend after about a year, probably shouldn't have!

Miele Solaris

I have a Miele Red Star and I love it it is so quiet and powerful mine has the same power head yours has and your right it sucks.... I don't use it, I just use the vac for all the straight suction cleaning bare floors etc....

Well, I got a chance to vacuum the whole house with it today, and I was pretty impressed. The power nozzle did a lot better than I was expecting it to. It actually did groom our carpet well, but we have a tallish loose pile carpet, I know this power nozzle wouldn't do well on plush carpet. I still can't believe how quiet and powerfull it is.

I have a Miele Red Star , purchased in 1998 and LOVE IT! The dealer was able to switch powerheads so I have the deluxe powerhead. I will say though, it didn't do well on deep carpet, but since this house has Berber and bare floors its not a problem.

Pictures are here! This is it with the power nozzle "parked" on the back.

The power dial.

The camera made the black look foggy.

Miele Solaris

Looks like a very nice machine you have there. It looks very similar to my Red Star... which I love... I know you will enjoy it! I wish there was a place around here to buy bags for mine though, I'm down to the last one.....

I just love my Miele. I bought it off Ebay from a woman who was uprgrading to a Silver Moon. It's called "Electronic S328i." It's the same size as the Solaris, 1100 watts and slide control for the suction. She had wood floors and had no electric nozzle, which is fine as I use an upright (Royal) for the rugs.

It's a great machine and so nice and quiet. If they can make a machine so quiet and powerful, why can't any of the other manufacturers these days!
