If you haven't had a good gut busting, can't breathe, runny nose laugh lately, go to E-Bay and search "vintage Kirby". Scroll down to the "One owner" 1958 model 518.

Pretty good deal! Shipping is reasonable too!

Oh, Ye Gods.

It looks like a nice machine, but it would not be worth that if it had once been the personal property of Queen Elizabeth II and came with pictures of her in a pinny and kerchief, using it to vacuum the halls in Buckingham Palace.

I would give him ten grand...

if I knew the Hope Diamond was inside the sani emtor. Hopefully it didn't break the metal fan on it's way in!

You know a vacuum is too expensive when the square root of the buy it now price is too much to pay.

very "pleased with him/herself". Must be something to have such an opinion of one's self.

Price increase indeed!!!!

This is a resisted item, it was $350.00 buy it now (i would barley pay $10.00 for it.) So my question is why was the price raised from $350.00 to THAT!!!!??????

Jae,

This seller is probably going to be blacklisted by eBay for listing the item at such a high price no one would be willing to pay for in this recession.

This proves some Ebay sellers are truly NUTS if they think a rebuilt Kirby, no matter HOW nice it looks, would go for $12 G'S!! Heck, this makes Ebay seller Kirbyfans's Kirby 505 listing for $2,500 a bargain compared to this. Better get the smelling salts for the Ebay-er when he faints from his Kirby STILL sitting put where it is, rather than selling! Truly nuts to command that money....

Such a deal

Must have been this sellers Mamau's Kirby. Considering the state the listing is posted from. My guess is the seller is hoping to pay off their new moble home. I wish the seller best of luck with the sale. However, I'll take a pass bidding on Mamau's Kirby.

Hmmmm.???...?!!?!??!!

I guess that makes vintage Filterqueens and Rainbows worth $13,000 to $20,000...

Ha ha.
I think I'll post my all chrome very rare 1940s Filterqueen fora starting bid of say $25,000
Rediculous .

So who would like to start the bidding??

But really, Where or where do these people get the pricing and ideas from
??
What do you think?

I don't care how factory rebuilt it was, it still isn't done in the original, period correct 518 colors. Anyone with any knowledge of vintage Kirby's knows that the 518 was originally done in a red and grey color scheme. Even if it was 100% original and correct it wouldn't be worth 1/10th what this seller was asking. I think they've been huffing the Odor-ific!!!

Just looked at the listing a few min ago-0 Bids!-and if it was Kirby factory rebuilt-does this mean it has the PLASTIC fan instead of the orig metal one?Guess the metal one broke when that Kirby ate the Hope Diamond?
