Anybody used these? Does it clean better than a Dyson Dc04 silver lime model? How much would you pay for one? Tell me all I need to know for a 5 bedroom multi floor house please or should I get another Dyson to replace my DC14
I feel so lost without my DC14, thats how much I liked it.

It will clean better than a DC04, although it may be a bit too big and bulky for a house. Hope this helps!

These are nothing to do with Sebo. Victor are a separate company altogether. Yes, it will out clean a DC04 or DC14 as it has a much more dense brushroll that gets deeper into the carpet pile. This might be a bit big to use in your house - they're designed for commercial environments with vast amounts of carpet.

If you're wanting a more heavy duty cleaner for use in a home, a Sebo 360, BS36 or Automatic X machine would be a better choice, or maybe a Nilco Combi or Victor Gold upright with a smaller profile

Something like this might be better - it's a commercial grade machine, but has a much smaller profile for gettng around furniture. Obviously, the hose should be stored over the handle.

Thanks, I used the blue version called Nilco, same thing but the brushbar didnt work, dunno what the cause was, and had poor suction but it was quite quiet, maybe a full bag? and dunno what hapepned to the brushbar, I reclined the vac, tried diff dettings, checked rthe little wire and still crap, so yh, and I also used the bagged dirty air one, that was so crap, I ran my Dyson DC25 Animal over the hall and it got a full bin, that vac is crap the nilco is! I bet the box upright clean air vac worked much better

They're not crap, Tayyab. You've got to remember, they're designed for very different enviroments. Commercial carpet is often very VERY low pile and stuck down to the floor, so the Nilco dirty fan cleaner would have been designed to deal with that kind of flooring, not a thicker pile, loose fitted carpet like you find in houses.

The chances are the brushroll motor was broken on the other Nilco you used - they're twin motor like the Sebo BS36.

stay away from victor

they always break down, like chris said the Sebo X series are a good choice or a miele 700 series, a very good option would be a numatic

I don't think that's necessarily true, Michael, my school had Victor cleaners for years as did my old work place. I think it depends how they're used more than anything, which would imply they're not the most durable of the commercial market

Im referring to the v9, at the school where my mothers work is they have them bright yellow things, while the suction is very good and are very easy to manoeuvre they just seam to break down, I often walk past the custodial engineers office and cleaners cupboards and there is lots of motor tops everywhere the cleaners themselves tell me how they always break on them and how they long for numatics they even draw faces on the victors they did have one upright this one in the listing but they didn't like that either the victors from the 90s when you went to school may have been durable but im not sure about todays modern victors

Chris thank you so much for the link, I am really interested now, and I am having a better taste in vacs! I want a Sebo X series with a hose, like the Victor or Nilco DR vacuum and/or just that Nilco in the link :) Cheers

Actually I think you should try for the SEBO BS36 series rather than X series. That way if you don't like it you can sell it on to any number of schools etc. Plus the SB36 is available with a reuseable fabric dust bag.

Thanks, but I dont like the BS36's looks, I much prefer one with the big bad door and hose on the size with the motorised head
Thanks :)

Well of course looks are subjective, but if you want something built to last, the BS36 is the one that is used in department stores and used to abuse. Not that the X isn't either but the BS36 offers a bit more. Twin motor, 1300 watt power more than the original X1 Automatic. Has 4 height manual adjustment of the roller against the slow-auto sensor head and offers replaceable brush strips which are far more economical to the consumables and pricing.

It is also quieter than the SEBO X series and picks up just as much.

Tayyab, it's not about "better taste". You like what you like, even if someone else doesn't. I mean, Alez doesn't like Sebo's particularly but I love them, doesn't mean either of us need to change that.

It's all about experience - use as many cleaners as you can and try not to form a judgement on something until you've used it :). You don't have to change your taste for other people. That's what makes this place so great - we all like different things and have experience of using different machines.

Anyway, back to the Sebo. I disagree with Ryan slightly, I don't think the BS36 is particularly well suited for homes. On the plus side, the bags for the BS36 are ENORMOUS. But it might be a good idea to try the X, BS and Felix cleaners out first before deciding which, if any, you want. That way you know you won't be disappointed. Performance is good on all 3, do it just depends what you prefer using really. The Automatic X and Felix machines are also cheaper than the BS36 to buy new - you can pick both up from around £180 - £200 if you shop around. Try your local Euronics centre as they've just introduced new exclusive lines and might be selling off the old Exclusive's cheaper.

I paid £175 for my x1.1, but that was about 2 years ago now.

All I can say is, whatever Sebo you choose, you'll be getting a great machine! I really want an X1.1 or X4 now. :)

Well the reason why I said "BS36," is because it doesn't have the auto sensor head and Tayyab is so used to a conventional Dyson that has instant contact with a floor. I can foresee our Dyson fan becoming very irate with the slow speed of the X adjusting to a carpet.

Since he has already expressed a preference for the "tube down the front" the BS36 has this as standard, and it is slightly angled. As you know, the Felix lacks this as well as nearly half the bag capacity. It is true that the bag door is at the rear of the BS36 vacuum but it makes very little difference comparing the X to the BS in that respect. Also since Tayyab appears to like the Victor uprights, the BS36 from SEBO is the closest in terms of its L-shaped head design.

The Felix is a good compromise -if you're willing to put up with a very short built in hose and smaller dust bag capacity, as well of course having the unique ability of going around corners. I had a BS36 many years ago, it had been badly abused by a care home and they sold it to me cheap. It didn't require much doing to it other than a replacement stretch hose, but the body had been beaten up, just the usual scars etc. Ended up selling it to a nearby hostel who were prepared to pay more than I paid for it.

I like all of SEBO 's upright vacs, but sometimes it is hard to pick one that is best out of all the ranges - it really depends on your NEEDS as opposed to your WANTS - and bearing in mind that at the end of the day, all of their domestic upright vacs are based loosely on commercial versions. Felix suits a small to medium flat or home, the X is designed for a larger home, BS is designed for large home plus bigger traffic areas.
