I have a Tradition coming in the next few days. I'm already thinking of getting rid of the disposable bag setup for a shakeout bag. My question is, does the emtor need any modifying for this, or will I need a new emtor? Hopefully it's an easy fix so all I'll have to get is a shakeout bag.

No. You won't need a new sani emp-tor. You'll need to remove the dark blue plastic adapter (that the fill hose connects to) by prying out with a screwdriver.

Switched over to the factory shakeout bag today. Turns out it was a wise move. When I pulled the old bag off the emtor, I found a couple of splits in the fill tube. I haven't used it yet, but now it's good to go with a good bag.

Also, this new bag is very stiff. Almost like it's padded compared to the other shakeout bags. Is this normal for these bags? It has a Scott and Fetzer tag on it so I guess it's genuine Kirby.

The new bag is supposed to be stiff, because it's made of the same filtering material as the Heritage II.

Thanks. I've never seen a Heritage up close so that explains it.
