Hello People!

This is my Dyson DC04 Absolute + which I got from the local carboot for £9.50. (Originally the seller wanted £15 for it!)

This is one of the earliest DC04s produces, this one was made on the 2/12/1998. Later on 1999 was when the DC04s we're released to the public of GB. But you probably already knew that... ;)

You may notice it has the wrong bin insert, I am still yet to get the green one for it. It also needs the green coloured tools, a new soul-plate, and a new brushroll, a new Blockage inspection port, and a new handle release grip plate. Surprisingly, the hose has no spits in it and is in perfect physical condition (it's just a little dirty).

Cheers! :D
Tim.

It looks really nice Tim! I've always considered the DC04 one of the best machines Dyson ever made. :)

Great find, understandably for a cleaner of this age, the original mains lead has been changed and the switch assembly modified. How is it you can work out the production date?

On the serial plate there is a big square with a little square inside it. Below this odd shape is the date the machine was made on. Again, mine says 2/12/1998. Not all Dyson serial plates are like this, my DC14s have the more modern type serial plate that doesn't display the date the machine was made on. The serial plate on earlier DC04s is on the spine of the machine, near where the hose base sits.

Joe I have to agree with you there, the DC04s are amazing, I was never that keen on at first them but now, well! There brilliantly designed! :D

The odd shape.

Thank you for this information, it is always warming to learn more. And now I can offer you something in return; that 'odd shape' you speak of is the double-insulated symbol which indicates that the appliance requires no earth connection.

That's what I said already :)

Doesn't alter the fact it was already mentioned. I'm not picking flies, I'm passing comment on what's been said.

The cable isn't original, but the motor and all that is! :)
