IMHO Electrolux had it right with that Supabroom with a brush roll - stick vacs shouldn't be expensive flashy toys, nor should they be overpriced. Whilst I like the idea of a cordless stick vac like the Ergorapido, its a compromise that a lot of buyers have to make because of the lack of a mains cord. 

I wouldn't suggest that any of Shark's (or Morphy Richards) Navigator vacuums are suitable as stick vacuums per se - but they do look like they are the next best thing, similar in size to the Vax Mach Air. It's a pity that the corded stick vac has more or less died out in the UK, largely one of the biggest attractions is the lower prices. I think the Bissell lightweight 140 watt stick vac and of course Electrolux now Zanussi Supabrooms are still available, but they are woeful on power, sadly. 

My daily quick driver is my Vax VCU02 - it replaces the Mach Air because I got so fed up of the short hose - it was even more cumbersome to use than the short hose on the Sebo Felix! - So I stopped using the hose on the Mach Air and the original Orange model I had also had a uselessly short amount of lead. The dirty fan "upright only" Vax VCU02 is just so much easier to use and of course it has a massive dust bag on board. It was also mega cheap at £39-99 when I found it at a local shop.
