As I briefly spoke about in another thread somewhat related, I am now the proud owner of 8 Hoover conquests in nearly unknown condition. I will be driving 500 miles in a couple days to pick them up and get to work making them workhorses like they should be!
My excitement put aside from the excitement of owning 8 machines when one dreams of at least owning one, I realized I don't know much about them.
I know they are Hoover's TOL commercial machine, are complete 'tanks', have ties to the Innovation/turbopower, and resale for about $200-300 igc.
I'm hoping only 2-3 at the most need major motor servicing or major parts, from the pics they look complete and the seller said most of them ran when parked. If I don't get lucky, how hard are these vacs to service?
Also, can anyone provide me the history of the Conquest? When did it come out, did it replace a vac, whatever you can tell me about them!
In addition, I have seen a scarce amount of older conquests with white hoods and orange trim, whereas all the older models were all orange. Is there something special about the white-hood models?
Lastly, if you're looking to buy a Conquest I will be selling 4-5 of them once I get them up to spec, and I am not looking to get rich off of them, just make my money back.
