Why, Hello there! As you may recall, I've recently began work on a Kenmore Duo-Power canister, In it's lovely 70s Avocado green and Wood Grain glory. I did end up buying a Filter-Queen Majestic for the motor (Don't worry, this poor thing was in such bad shape, the handle busted and the entire thing nasty, some parts coated in a sticky, brown substance. The motors were indeed the same, besides one fatal issue. The original Amtek motor had 5 wires, and the newer having 4. Well, I thought one wire served as a Neutral, as all the other similar wires had a neutral but this one. Well, The Kenmore didn't like this Motor one bit, and blew the breaker with-out a single sign of life. I'm actually very glad it did this, As it prompted something in me to bring that 40-something year old motor back into it's service- Dust Control. It was more of a since then I thought, The Kenmore yearned to be the dust-munch-er it once was, And in no-time the cleaner was pulling a strong suction once more, with the motor now delivering freedom of movement, and a nice-long wind-down. Then came re-assembling the power nozzle. I have a spare brush off an older 90s Kenmore Whispertone with a bad bearing in the motor out in the Barn of Vacuums. Eager to clean once more. I threw together the Nozzle and set out for the land of Berber Carpets. The cleaner does need a belt, but performed well, especially since I ran the thing in LO the whole time (Still breaking it in before HI comes along).
Here's you some pics- I still have some Finalizing to do. |

These were known for the tabs busting off from people not wanting to take the caddy off properly (Buy pushing towards the hose and lifting up). The caddies became lost, too. Mine's in perfect condition, It appears they kept it (And the immaculate chrome wands) in the original accessories box (Not pictured, But seen in my previous thread about the Duo-Power). |

The never-used fabric "dusting" mitt for the Floor tool. I believe these were used for Hard-Floors (Then you'd have the Canister to match your floors!). The dusting tool's mitt was not in plastic still, but new-in-box condition as well. Perhaps used once or twice to see how well it works on a wood mantle or something. |
