Hi all, I picked up this last weekend. A Hoover Harlequin. It needed a clean but it's cleaned up quite nice.

I use to have one with a red covering. Mum borrowed it for the old caravan and I never saw it again....lol

Hi,

Hi, Thanks for the complimentsSmile

Nope sorry James. No other pics of it was taken. I should take some more pictures of the Kirby why the apartment is empty before it's rented out again.

The last person to rent it had a young child and a big dog and they wasn't the most "House Proud"Wink. The Kirby's eating the mess for breakfastSmile

Just got to finish off decorating the two double bedrooms then I can clean them.

I would love to find a 110 volt Canadian version of that Harlequin!!! This was indeed sold in Canada at some point in the 1970's! I remember seeing ads for this vac (including that unique wire tool rack) from some hardware stores in Montreal....

These old harlequins are nice, and in a range of colours too!

I was about to say that the tool set was not correct and that it should have had the upholstery nozzle rather than the universal brush (and I am sure it did later) but I noticed that its the brush in the ad below.

Brian, it must have been around early 1970s as this model was dropped in the UK in around 1973 when the all new Freedom canisters were introduced.

Thank you for the information about the date of that Harlequin... Much appreciated!

I'm kind of obsessed with the quality of attachments provided with a canister/cylinder/barrel vacuum, and along with that, I like to see provisions for proper tool storage. :-)
