While digging around eBay today, I found this Royal vacuum.  To me it looks nothing like any of the Royal / Dirt Devil machines I've seen. Thoughts, comments, is it a "real" Royal?

Really really strange, ugly paint color too.

dirt devil platinum force

This is the same thing as the Dirt Devil Platinum Force Bagged. I'm not sure which came first but this Royal looks to be an exact copy. I believe the original platinum forces came out in the early 2000's. I remember my mom's friend had the bagless model. I supplied a link to a picture of the original bagged version. Hopefully someone else with more knowledge could fill in any other info.
