Has managed its way into my house. I don't even particularly like these vacs except for the bags but they seem to be popping up everywhere I go. I noticed one on Ebay the other day went for some serious coin, for a twin fan that is. This one just needs a new lighbulb, has a little wear on the bag at the bottom but looks ok and it has that notorious loud motor even on lo speed.

Nice find, those are getting harder and harder to find!

HI Jeff... it says High Performance but I don't really see any difference underneath between it and the other ones. Is there something?

yes

Pete,
While the motor may be the same RPM-wise as the older models, the ductwork was changed on some models to make the air move faster.
Compare this Kenmore to the older ones you have. The ductwork and openings to the fan chambers should be different, I know the fan inlets will be smaller on the HP machine.
If I remember correctly there were three different Chassis' used. The normal one on the BOL models, an HP chassis for MOL cleaners, and something called High Performance PLUS on the TOL models.
