Today I stopped in one of the local vac shops, Sweeper Central, to pick up a package of genuine Hoover Type M bags for my Dimension canisters. Not only did I leave with the bags, but I also left with a genuine Hoover replacement hose for my rust colored Dimension and a beautiful gold and white Dial a Matic! Big thanks to the owner for his generosity today!

Pictures to follow!

I have never used a Dial a Matic that runs quite as smoothly as this one. Not to mention the fact that there are brand new bristles in the brushroll! (Genuine Hoover, of course!)

This machine has seen a very gentle life.

That is

A nice one!The Dial A Matic in my opinion, set the stage for all modern uprights, because it was the first of its kind.

Nice DAM Matt! That might be one of or possibly the final non self-propelled model, someone on here will know that. Congrats on a nice find!

Hoover DAM Chronology

I know the Persian Gold U5015 is seen fairly commonly and was part of the 1978 lineup, along with its power drive cousin the U6039-030 (right before the Concept 1), but when was the green U5017 produced? I thought with a higher model number it was a slightly newer model? Also, why did Hoover tack on the -030 model designation during the production run of the U6039? Any info would be much appreciated.
