Hi all,

Just thought I'd be making a list of the vacuums that I would like to get in the future. See what your

These are:

Dyson DC01 De Stijl OR a DC01 Standard
Dyson DC04 Silver and Lime
Dyson DC07 (Don't mind what model)
Numatic Henry 1981 or any Henry model from 81 onwards (because everyone needs a Henry!!!!)
Hoover Junior - Either: Junior High Power Compact, top fill 1980s Junior, or a bottom fill 1970s Junior.

Where I'm mainly get those vacuums is from a carboot, with thanks to George (dysondestijl) for the idea of visiting the local carboot! (Fingers crossed I'll find a Junior)

Current vacuum collection consists of:
Dyson DC14 Animal
Hoover Jive handheld

I don't want to have a huge collection of machines, picking quality of quantity. Also thinking of picking up another modern Hoover, perhaps a Hoover Sprint Cylinder cleaner, it's on offer at Argos for £49.99 so think I might pick that one up. Quite impressed by the new modern Hoovers, better than Vax by a long shot!

If you ever see a dc07 animal with a good motor clutch and brushroll, and bad anything else I have a decent shell in the garage if you need any parts

Hi I'm going to soon put a Good Condition Dyson DC01 De Stijl on Ebay so i'll let you know when it's on, unless you find one before.

Looking at that Hoover Sprint - it seems to be single cyclone, but really you just need to keep the filter clean for it to be working fine, but it looks quite nice.

Modern Hoovers do seem to look better than Vax machines, plus they don't have the appaling build quality of some models.

Good Luck!

P.S. you do see loads of Dysons at Car Boots, I did see yesterday a DC03 for £5 but no one wanted it, cleaned up though.

Thanks for you reply. Thanks for telling me about the DC01 De Stijl on eBay. Much appreciated, although I will look round the carboot first.

Also, beko1987, your spares for DC07 Animal vacuums, what are they exactly? And is it just for Animal models? If you could let me know that would be super :)

Um.. well.. if you're quite impressed with the modern Hoover machines and comparing them to Vax, there's very little difference IMHO. The filter on board the Hurricane/Spirit etc is a direct copy of Vax's filter fitted to the VO-46 Widetrack uprights sold in the 1990s..

Out of interest, why a bottom fill Hoover Junior? Are you going to try and make a Dyson Hoover Junior with a cyclone too?

That would be quite interesting Sebo_fan...

I've got the whole cleaner minus tools, motor and clutch. The carry handle is snapped off though.

I mentioned animal as its purple, not a lot of good if you have any other machine but a purple animal! Might get you out of stook if you need parts though

No, I'm not going to make a copy of James' first prototype. I just want a Bottom fill Hoover Junior OR A top fill 80s Junior. Or JUST A JUNIOR! I just really want one! No matter if it's a bottom or top fill. I don't mind

Also thanks beko1987 for the info on the spares, I shall bare that in mind if I come across a DC07 Animal. I did used to have a DC07 Animal, but that's long gone now. But if I come across one that I think worth getting I shall inform you :)

IMHO if you're after bottom fill, may as well seek out a Senior upright. If top fill, stick with the Junior.
