I just could not help myself when I saw this new vac in the store at $39.88-regular price. It is a Bissell. I thought it just could not be any good. Boy was I in for a surprise!
It has the following feature:
(1) Wrap around furniture guard
(2) 5-postion carpet adjustments
(3) 3 position handle adjustment
(4) very quiet motor
(5) 22 foot powe cord
(6) enclosed bag compartment
(7)pre and post motor filter that are washable
(8) attached hose and tools
(9) carring handle on back of machine
(10) large wheels located at the back for easy transport
(11) very lightweight and balanced
(12) comes with coupon-for 12bags and 2 belts for $9.99 with free shipping and handlinmg
I was just amazed when I used it for the first time. It reminds me of the Hoover dail-a-matic with enclosed bag, horizonal motor and low profile to get under furniture. It is very quite by todays standards and very easy to push on my veavy carpets. The Bissell website has replacement parts listed and they seem reasonable too. Has anyone else had any experience with this model 3525-2 and only $39.88! Sometimes even vac colectores can be surprised!

Great vac for $39.88

I got the 12 bags 2 belts delivered from Bissell today. I thought that was good service. The coupon came with the machine.I just ordered them on Monday afternoon. Who would think you would buy a $40.00 vacuum that you would like better than a $400.oo bagless that I returned because it ruined my dining room carpet with a too stiff plastic brush! The machine is very quiet by todays standards. I checked two stores and both had them in stock but that might just be in our area. This vac was a total surprise to me.

make sure

you keep the agitator clean, Bissell's agitators are known to melt if hair or string gets into the bearings, but thats true to most vacs anyway.lol

Great vac value for $39.88

Thanks for the information. This Bissell for $39.88 is like when I was a child and saw the ads in Sears for a entry level Kenmore upright for under $30.00 or when Hoover started selling the canisters at discount stores at $29.95. I was just so surprised when comparing to it the other cleaners at much higher prices. They were all cheaply constucted and almost all of the newer cleaners I have heard drove you out of the room they were so LOUD. I come from the time when you bought a Hoover Convertible or Electrolux and they lasted for 20 plus years. My parents are still using the Air-Way and Hoover Dial-A-Matic from the 60's and 70's. I already have recieved the extra 12 bags and 2 belts from the coupon that came with the machine. That was good service to get delivery within 4 days from Bissell.

Bissell

yes please be sure to keep the brush clean because I had a Bissell Clean View that the brush roll had melted on almost causing a fire. let me tell you it smelled like crap. the vacuum was not that bad though. I am one who usually hates Bissell because they are just cheap plastic but they will last a while. email me at magvac1004@yahoo.com

Bissell

Aren't the brushes on the Bissell brush roll stiff too? I remember you said you returned a higher priced machine because the brush roll was too stiff causing damage to your carpet. I had a Bissell Clean View and I thought the brushes were very stiff. Similar to that of a Hoover Windtunnel. Either way, I hope you like this machine better. I agree that was very good service from Bissell (getting the bags, etc. to you in just 4 days)

I actually like the way the Bissell cleans, as long as you change the bag often. It does a great job of pulling up the nap on the carpet.

Has anyone tried the Bissell Digi-Pro (I think it is called) canister vacuum? Any opinions? My Wal-Mart never has them in stock.

I think that Bissell is now the best vacuum that walmart has. Only because it is walmart's only bagged vacuum. They are a great vacuum for the price. Was the vacuum that you returned a Dyson?

great value for $39.88

Yes the vac that I returned was a Dyson. It completely ruined a dining room rug. I was also concerned about using it on my new heavy plush wall-to-wall carpeting. I have been using a Kirby and Electrolux on this same rug with no damage. A carpet dealer told me they see damage all the time from carpets cleaned by the newer cleaners with the very stiff plastic brushes. It's the same idea of using a very strong cleaner on your sinks verses a soft scrub product. Yes the stronger cleaner gives better, immedeiate results but at what cost. The carpet man also said the damage is not apparent at first but causes the carpet to look "fuzzed" after a perio of time.
